the room was very junky. lamp shade cracked and stained. the tub plug didn’t fit the tub. it was non smoking but smelled like smoke.

The motel manager is very nice and helpful. we remembered that from our stay there last summer and that was one of the reasons we came back

I have never ever stayed in such a filthy, rundown, seedy motel as this. It should be renamed “The Covid Inn.” Hopefully neither one of us caught something. The toilet bowl had dark urine stains around the rim, the plug was missing in the bathtub, no chair in the room nor was one available according to the woman at the desk. The outside metal railing was very loose, the floor was filthy, the outside grounds were littered with trash including an actual bucket of trash off to the side. The owner is just taking in the money and not putting a dime back into the business. The bath mat is a common use one used fir Lord knows how many people. Why didn’t we leave early? Well they conveniently had a 48 hour cancellation policy. The Covid Inn also has some questionable residents. I asked about them and was told they were fire victims. No way!! They appear to be transient people and how they pay is a question or does The State of California pay fir them?? If so The State is being ripped off by whoever owns this little gem,

I had great stay here. I specially like liked the pool and BBQ area, it was secluded from people and just a private Oasis. The prices for rooms are very reasonable and include the best channels including Starz.

I was here 4 nights and housekeeping never came. I had to get my original towels and replacement towels and toilet paper and Kleenex. The TV was horrible, Peggy at the front desk very sweet. Place is run down, filthy yard. Dog poop everywhere. Pool is not heated but doable. Not recommended.

I would save this place as a last resort. Please ignore the ratings. I was afraid to stay there with my wife, but we had no choice at the time. The motel needs a complete makeover and millions in renovations. The staff was polite, but it is not a place that you really want to ever have to stay in.

Stayed at Golden Chain Motel as a last minute decision. The good thing is they are inexpensive, because they should be. At one time this was probably a good family resort, but it has seen better days and is now pretty seedy. My room was clean but the bathroom sink was plugged,the refrigerator froze everything, the lighting dim and you could feel the bed springs . It is dog friendly and the manager was nice, but it is unlikely I would stay there again, or recomend it to others.

This is never a place where I’d make a reservation for myself, but it was what my organization was able to book for a few nights at the last minute. It is outdated, the pictures are deceptive and the management has a shaky relationship with the truth. We saw what was either a huge bug or a small rodent in the room. We slept in the car the first night. The second night they gave us a better room, but I bought towels at Walmart after the manager told us that they don’t use bleach in their laundry. I also bought a sleeping bag and pillow at Walmart in order for me to sleep inside that night because the temperature that night had dropped quite a bit. I would make better arrangements for my pets.

Reading some of the reviews I think this must be two different places. My room was shabby, there were no hand towels or washcloths, no hangers in the closet missing light bulbs in the bathroom, tacky worn out bed linens -- you get the picture. The General Manager/Owner was surly and negative, barely approachable. The pool was open but the tables were all broken and stacked at one end, many of the chairs were broken and those that weren't were dirty. This has the potential to go one of two ways, further into the toilet or refurbished to what appears to have been a nice property at one time. Check it out before you book.
