Quality Inn & Suites Fort Madison near Hwy 61

Everything was great except on check out there was no one at the front desk. I thought this kind of strange. I gave my room key to a member of the housekeeping staff who was outside on a smoke break.

Staff was responsive & kind. We were given a key to a room that already had someone’s things in it, obviously this was corrected quickly. Sheets on the roll away were dirty, comforters on the beds were stained and looked gross. Killed several spiders and bugs in our room. Breakfast was not great but ok. Overall, appearance was clean- just old and needs some updating. Pool was nice and looked pretty clean.

Even though we had to take shelter, literally 10 minutes after check in due to a "Real Tornado" and a power outage of 9 hours. The Hotel Staff were great!

Stay was pleasant and rooms were comfortable. Had a major family emergency and had to stay at a local hotel , but the last day I was staying the manager told the desk clerk to not allow me to renew my room because I was local ? I was forced to explain my very sensitive and private situation just so I could pay for another night the same way everyone else staying there had. Thie desk clerk handled it very well and was so polite. Shame on the manager for that !! I had two young children with me and it upset me so badly.

The woman who worked at the front desk was AMAZING!! So nice and helpful. We were high maintenance and she was consistently pleasant! She deserves a raise! The breakfast was nice. Woman working at the breakfast this morning was happy amd kind.

The hallway on the second floor smelled like something was dead. It was overpowering! There was blood on one of the beds, stains on both the bedspreads in both rooms, lots of hair in the bathroom that wasn’t ours, the soap bottles were dirty in the outside like they had been touched with filthy hands and not cleaned off.

Rooms were clean and updated. Staff was friendly.

I was exhausted by the time I checked in , no problem at all got my 3 rooms and everyone was happy . Breakfast before hitting the road was great , noise levels were minimal, would stay here again
