"Relief to get here!"

8.0

I booked this months ago as a worse case scenario and later realised I had booked with no cancellation options. And then I read TripAdvisor reviews every month. For nine months. I have stressed. And all for nothing. Yes. It is a budget motel - we paid just over a hundred dollars a night for 3 of us. I tried to confirm with them and organise airport transfer as advertised before arrival via email. No response and the trepidation grew. Upon arrival, I was greeted politely and processed efficiently. The room has two double beds - both are ready to be replaced with two people tumbling in to the centre, but fine for the third person sleeping alone- and a decent tv. There is no kettle or fridge, but there is an iron and hairdryer. No kettle! The room was immaculately clean and serviced daily. It is clear that we are not the first guests here, but nothing worse than that. There is an ice and vending machine available at the beautiful oasis on level 2 , but no close-by tea or coffee options. A little convenience store across the road. Yes the streets are noisy but I had to look down the alleys to see the oft mentioned homeless. Parking and wifi both available as advertised. 1 mile from union square. My recommendations to mgt: kettle and it’s time to remattress. Would I recommend: if you’re looking for cheap and clean with parking and wifi, consider this one.

"Budget hotel near Civic Center."

6.0

Nice gall at check in. Was assigned a room that was not ready. Our next room was clean and presentable, This is an older property in need of updating. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, with homeless people sleeping and hanging around on the sidewalks. As a result, the sidewalks and surrounding area is not the cleanest. I don't blame the property for the situation surrounding the hotel. It is the city of SF that has allowed this situation to exist and deteriorate.

"No Frills, but Adequate"

6.0

Small room, next to the street, very noisy, but comfortable bed, clean, polite staff. No in-room coffee, nor in the lobby. Lots of homeless in immediate area, but a few blocks away from tourist attractions. Parking is free, but process is ridiculous. On the way to underground garage, you have to leave your car and walk into office to ask clerk to push button and open garage gate - every time.

"Good Price and Parking, But Quite Shabby."

4.0

I wanted a place to stay within walking distance of the opera, with parking. The Oasis seemed to fit the bill, and the price was very reasonable. But the room was not particularly clean--long black hairs in a clean bath towel--and the condition of the room was very battered and worn. Several lights didn't work--and nor did the little in-room refrigerator which only made a cool temperature in the freezer section when turned on to full. I needed it for medicine, but fortunately the gel packs in my portable cooler held out. The "heat lamp" in the bathroom was nothing more than an ordinary fluorescent light bulb. The foam mattress on the bed was disintegrating and was totally lumpy with a large valley in the center. Interesting holes in the wall, too. The top of the beside table was battered, as though someone had hit it with a hammer. Extra and superfluous chairs were stuck around, like they didn't have anyplace else to put them. I will not stay there again.

"Double charged. Still trying to get my money back "

2.0

Double charged. Still trying to get my money back. I booked by phone, asked for an email confirmation and they told me it wasn't possible. Got there and there was no reservation. Fortunately there were rooms available. I paid cash but they still needed a credit card so I gave them one. Two weeks later I found out they charged me on my credit card what I already paid in cash. Every time I call there is someone new answering so I have to explain all over again. I emailed them and never get a response. Still waiting for them to solve this.

"Close to the Opera House"

6.0

My husband and I stayed at the Oasis Motel on Franklin Street in San Francisco. It is easy walking distance to Herbst Hall, the Opera House, the Asian Art Museum, Bill Graham Civic, the symphony hall and other frequently visited Civic Center locations. The room was clean, the staff friendly enough and wonder of wonders. There was enough parking. The price including parking recommends it.
