Would have loved a coffee pod machine in the bedrooms but that only because I don’t like instant coffees. So that’s really just personal preference but the coffee in the restaurant is lovely

Essen (Buffet bei Frühstück und Abendessen) sehr gut, Servicepersonal sehr schnell und sehr aufmerksam. Lage des Hotels sehr schön, Poolanlage wunderschön.

Personal beim Check-In unkompetent und unfreundlich: Unser ursprünglich zugeteiltes Zimmer hatte einen modrigen Geruch, wir wollten das Zimmer wechseln, das dauerte fast 3 Stunden (zuerst schien es überhaupt unmöglich und man machte uns lächerlich). Nachdem es dann klappte und wir endlich ein anderes Zimmer hatten und fragten, wie es zB mit einem Getränkegutschein aussieht für die lange Wartezeit, hieß es "Sie haben jetzt eh ein anderes Zimmer, das muss reichen". Keine Entschuldigung. Zu den Zimmern: Viel zu wenig Schrankablage für einen längeren Aufenthalt, kein Haken an der Wand, usw. Dafür wäre Platz genug gewesen. Riesiges Zimmer, aber Ausstattung sehr einfach.

Abwechslungsreiches Buffet, Entertainment (Sportaktivitäten, Basteln (bspw. Ketten), etc.), tolle Lage und Aussicht, hervorragender Service

We had a great 3-night stay at Barcelos. We chose it because of the Adults Only theme and the good on site gym. It was so nice to stay at a resort and not have screaming kids and angry, yelling parents, especially at the pool area. So peaceful and relaxing! The location is spectacular, right on the rugged basaltic coast with stunning views of the massive Los Gigantes cliffs. Around the hotel there is no end to the number of shops, restaurants, etc. The staff at reception were really friendly and helpful. Our room was super-nice with spectacular seaviews, right across to La Gomera island. It was bright, airy, and spacious with a nice balcony, great for watching sunset. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The buffet meals in the main restaurant were excellent – definitely no complaints there! We made use of the well-equipped gym on several occasions. All of the gear is relatively new and high quality with a good variety of cardio, weight machines, and free weights. It is a bit on the small side but definitely better than most hotels.

1. Parking – The hotel has no parking area and it’s really difficult to find parking in the streets around the hotel, sometimes >500m away. 2. TV – not a Smart TV with streaming apps, and you can’t mirror your phone/computer. 3. The AC was not effective at cooling our room, a bit hot at night.
