"Needs refurbishing and updating."

6.0

Requires updating. We have been coming to this resort for the past 20 years and it is now showing signs of wear and tear. Although we had a terrific holiday here the rooms are looking tired. Seemed a bit short staffed to us in certain areas. Feel sad having to write this but it’s time for some investment and a refresh to keep up with the competition.

Everything was wonderful! Our cottage was clean and comfortable. The heated floors in the bathroom were so nice in the cool mornings. I usually don’t find the beds comfortable but ours was so comfy!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful! I would love to go back!

The attention to detail at Carneros is unmatched. The little cottages feature heated bathroom floors, giant fluffy bath towels, heaters on the patios, and a private outdoor shower. We soaked up the sun at the stunning hilltop pool, while enjoying delicious drinks and the perfect poolside menu. It felt as though each step we took was a beautiful photo opportunity, complete with fresh flowers, bubbling fountains, and pleasant places to stop and take a deep breath. The food we enjoyed was fresh and delicious and the staff was helpful and courteous. We loved every minute we enjoyed this beautiful resort and are already dreaming of how we can come back.

"Wedding at Carneros"

10.0

My husband and I had a wedding here recently and here is our review on this excellent resort: Kaj: Excellent and stunning resort! The staff and service at Carneros were so friendly and accommodating throughout. Food was amazing, loved the desserts and Mexican food the Chef created for us. Our guest loved the venue and the resort and compared it to Italy and Spain. We can’t wait to have future stays here during our anniversaries. Rishabh: Beautiful resort, excellent service. You can’t beat the views and serenity of the venue in napa. It’s worth the price tag

"California Dreamin’ in Autumn"

10.0

Carneros Resort and Spa offers a true idyllic, romantic Napa Valley getaway experience, blending rustic charm with refined luxury. For us, its most standouting feature was definitely the individual cottages, which provide a fantastic sense of privacy and indoor-outdoor living. Our cottage had a private patio with a fire pit; some bigger units even included outdoor tubs/showers, making for a relaxing stay. The heated bathroom floors was a nice touch, too. The resort's Tuscan setting among rolling hills and vineyards is beyond beautiful, and you'll find plenty of space to unwind. There are two pools (one adults-only with vineyard views), a well-equipped fitness center with complimentary yoga classes, and a full-service spa offering farm-inspired treatments. Dining is a highlight, particularly the Farm restaurant, which we especially loved their farm-to-table cuisine concept. For hotel guests, Boon Fly Cafe, located next to the resort, is a great option for a delicious, hearty breakfast. The "luxury farmhouse" concept in the resort is also quite nice. While the location is scenic, it's a bit removed from downtown Napa, so having a car or utilizing the resort's golf cart service for on-property transport is essential. Overall, if you're seeking a luxurious and private retreat in wine country with excellent amenities and dining, Carneros Resort and Spa is definitely worth considering, especially for couples or families looking for a bit more space, serenity and slow living.

"Good"

6.0

Not a great experience. Service at Farm was poor (waited 20min to place first drink order, and then another 30min before actually receiving drinks, and I had to walk in from the patio to place desert orders as our waiter would not stop by) for long periods. Our room was nice, but cleaning sprays had been left inside, and there were no instructions on how to operate the fire pit or outside heater or patio door. Matches to light the fire pit were missing and after calling the reception and they promised to deliver those directly, we called back after 20min because no-one had come and we just wanted to sleep. In addition, our patio door was broken and did not close - we tried to call reception multiple times but no-one answered, so I eventually had to walk down to the reception to get someone to fix this - there were screws that had loosened preventing the door to open/shut properly which were fixed and added yet another half hour to us unable to relax. Then at checkout thy pulled up the wrong room and had added all these extra charges which I asked to remove one by one until they realized they had pulled up the wrong room (even though we had given them our check-in slip that had the room written on it). What was labelled as a vineyard walk, was essentially a 75m short fenced of patch next to a vineyard .... so nothing on its own a disaster, but too many issues that added up and made this not worth a stay spending $1,500 for a night.

"Wonderful experience!"

10.0

We had an incredible time at this resort. We typically stay in Calistoga and this was our favorite Napa trip we’ve gone on so far. The staff is incredibly polite and helpful, the food was delicious, the adult pool was calm and relaxing. The gym was clean and spacious and it overlooked the family pool which also looked wonderful. We will definitely go back with our kids as well. Loved that it accommodated couples who wanted to relax quietly and families as well. Golf carts to drive you places was a huge bonus!

"One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The service is terrible and they are not child friendly"

2.0

I liked the structure of the common areas, except for the children's pool, which is dirty, has a view of the wall, and has a sad, abandoned atmosphere. In general, the service is poor and they are not friendly with children.

The reception was cold and indifferent. No information was given about the hotel's structure and operation. No welcome drinks were offered. In the room, as a "welcome", there was only a cracked bowl with two apples (photo attached). The room was dirty and in need of maintenance. The bed linens were worn. Hair (or dog hair) was scattered around the bathroom and bathtub. The amenities were not replaced after use. The adult pool is spectacular (photo attached). Located on a hill with a stunning view. Children are not allowed to go near it. The children's pool, on the other hand, is horrible (photos attached). At the back of the hotel, it is dirty, messy, and has a view of the wall. A single employee struggles to serve snacks and drinks in worn glasses while unsuccessfully trying to clean up the mess and dirt. The atmosphere is terrible. A sad silence. Comparing the adult pool with the children's pool, I got the impression that I was being punished for having a child. They are not friendly with children. There are many restrictions regarding them. I was kicked out of two areas of the hotel, on two occasions, because children were not allowed in those areas. In general, the information is not clear and the rules can change depending on the events that take place there. You are always left wondering what you can and cannot do. It is distressing, because if you make a mistake and are in a place or at a time that is not allowed, they reprimand you. One day I parked my car in a spot and everything went well. The next day I parked in the same spot, but I was reprimanded because there was a wedding and the car could not be left there. A few employees are friendly and helpful, but the majority are atypical and indifferent. The waiter Pedro from the Farm restaurant deserves a positive mention, and the manager of the Dining Room restaurant deserves a negative mention. We placed three orders in the room, but only one was delivered.
