Actons Hotel Kinsale

We celebrated our wedding last week in Acton’s. Thank you so much to Ian and all of the team in Acton’s. Acton’s was the first hotel that we viewed and I knew leaving that it was the place for us. From the moment we met Ian we knew we were going to be well looked after. Nothing was too big of an ask for Ian and all of the small touches that went into our day didn’t go un noticed. Anytime we spoke to our friends and family throughout the day it was high praise of Ian and the gorgeous food and ambiance that the team put together. All of the team in Acton’s make you feel at home the second you come in the door. We spent a weekend that we will never forget and we are so grateful to Ian and all of the Acton’s team. No it was all ok

This was my 2nd stay at Actons, and it was just as I remembered it. Lovely room overlooking the harbour. It's right in town so it was very easy to get to different places. Extremely clean room that was just charming. My room was at the top of the stairs and across from the elevator, which I was concerned about. Except for a group coming in loudly (which the hotel staff is not to blame) after 11:00 pm, it was quiet. It was wonderful to have a couple of bottles of water in the room, as well as tea/coffee. The breakfast buffet was limited but ordering breakfast was at no extra charge. The bathrom had a very nice rain shower. The only negative thing I have to say about this hotel is that there are very few USB ports (there was only 1), which isn't a big deal as long as you remember to bring an adapter.

We had a function for 200 people last week. The food and service was outstanding. You expect, for such a large number of guests, that the food will be fine. But everyone said afterwards that it was outstanding. On top of that, the staff were excellent. They worked around some activities that we had on during the meal with such skill, grace and good humour. The ambience was also excellent, with beautiful table settings and seating. The management also gave us plenty of time in the function room in advance to prepare the event. Thanks Ian. Excellent bar in the function room also and spotless restroom facilities nearby. Room temperature was also very pleasant. Highly recommend for a large function!

My husband and I spent 2 nights here in March 2026 Such a let down the restaurants were closed in the evenings we were there We ate in the bar which there were eight people inc myself and husband The staff were just ok slow service bland food. I asked about the swimming pool which there was no access from hotel we had to walk across the car park in torrential rain to get to the Leisure center which was so so . Our room was small but lovely with harbour view Knowing that this hotel was updated in 2022 We would never have guessed so the lifts were grubby and the hallways drab and dark We were so excited to be staying there as in its hay day in 90s it was the place to be .Not anymore it definitely needs new management to bring the hotel up to date Will not be returning as there are many more hotels in the area that beats this one hands down

We recently had our wedding at Actons Hotel and we were absolutely delighted with our choice of reception venue. From start to finish, all the staff were only too happy to help with every enquiry. Dealing with Ian and his team throughout the wedding preparations was a pleasure. No question or query was ever too much, and they were always accommodating and happy to help with anything we needed. The run-up to the day was flawless, with every detail double-checked and confirmed, which made the whole experience completely hassle-free for us. Our guests are still complimenting both the hotel itself and the fantastic staff — not to mention the incredible food. We would highly recommend them to anyone, and dealing with Ian in particular made everything so easy.

We had a fabulous stay at Actons. The hotel is in a perfect location. Walkable to the many shops and restaurants. The car parking is also free on sight which takes the stress out of having to find and pay for affordable parking. It was my partner’s 70th birthday and the hotel upgraded us to a suite which was stunning. I cannot thank them enough for this very kind gesture. Breakfast is also included in the price and this was great value with a choice of cold buffet food or a selection of hot meals from the menu. Would come to this hotel again. Room spotlessly clean. There is a fitness centre but I did not use this facility so cannot comment on this.
