The 5 minute commute to the Kentucky Exposition Center for Bourbon Beatdown

I didn’t like that people got their trucks broken into on Friday April 3, 2026 so we cut our stay short & checked out early on Saturday morning April 4, 2026 instead of staying until Sunday not feeling safe about our truck being in the parking lot with tools & stuff in it for our derby car. We were told that people break into trucks (which are more targeted) by gangs when Louisville has a big event. After being told that by a cop & front desk clerk I would assume they would have security in the parking lot at all motel/hotels but I assumed wrong!

Close to fairgrounds

Paid for king bed, got two queen. Couldn’t connect my Hilton rewards, charged additional tax fee on top of my third party payment that I paid months before. Paid a total of $620 for two nights and it doesn’t even include breakfast ….highway robbery. I refuse to use Hilton again. Hampton Inn is by far friendlier employees and top notch service.

Check in was easy, rooms were nice

When booked it said on the site it had a pool and hot tub, which was the purpose of booking that hotel because traveling with a small child, besides the location. After the check in was we were informed that there was no pool or hot tub. Would not recommend this hotel. Do not show something in the amenities if you don’t have it. If I would’ve known when I booked it, I would’ve found another hotel.

My son’s college baseball team had been staying at the hotel while playing in Louisville. After the team arrived back home, my son realized one of his baseball uniforms was missing. He didn't know where it could be. Needless to say, he was in a panic. I called the hotel and spoke with Kim, the Manager, who immediately jumped into action. She personally went to the room, checked everything, and contacted housekeeping to search for it. At first, it couldn’t be located. I called back about an hour later just to see if it might have turned up, and amazingly, they had found it! But what happened next is what truly impressed me. Kim’s first question wasn’t about the inconvenience or the logistics. She simply said: “How can I get this to your son as quickly as possible?” She took ownership of the entire situation. She boxed up the uniform, and sent a runner from the hotel to drive it out to FedEx and overnight it so my son. Kim was genuinely as excited as we were when the uniform was found. Her attitude was fantastic, the communication was great, and the effort from the staff, especially housekeeping, was truly above and beyond. The team here showed care, urgency, and pride in helping a guest, even after checking out and leaving the state. To Kim and the housekeeping team: thank you for going the extra mile. You made a stressful situation turn into a great story. Outstanding service and truly appreciated.

Everything was excellent
