Great location. They provide golf cart transportation up the hill to town. Clean room. Nice mini bar. Close to the creek.

Amara was a disappointment from arrival to departure. Here's the TL:DR... Pros: - Nice location in town. Walkable to many nice restaurants, shops. - Salt Rock has great food and bevs. - Valet is prompt and courteous. Cons: - Not all Red Rock rooms have views of Red Rocks despite description on website - Very concerning bill discrepancies at checkout - No self park - No self serve ice - Small fridge, NO freezer (you have to ask for mini bar items to be removed to utilize the fridge) - No microwave - Long steep driveway with no pedestrian walkway - Managers are helpful but limited in what they can offer in the way of service recovery and are not present at all hours. - Pool was not heated when we were there and was frigid - No slippers - No matcha - Spa is overpriced and will attempt upsell. Details: First impression was positive, I called early in the morning to talk to them about getting an upgrade and an early check-in. They stated they couldn't confirm the upgrade, which I understand, but could accommodate the early check-in. When I arrived at the stated time (dirty and tired from a hike), I could not check in. When I finally was able to check in, I was disappointed to find that although I paid quite a bit more for a Red Rocks room which was advertised as Red Rocks view, this was not accurate (see photos). I discussed this with the front desk attendant and she discussed with the manager who was not on site. Ultimately, I was offered a drink at their bar, which I declined, as I was heading to dinner at another location. I was asked to talk to the manager the following evening (after 4pm). The following day I discussed this with the manager, who was nice about it and offered me some hotel credit. It was nowhere near the difference in price between a courtyard view room and a Red Rocks view room. Other minor annoyances ensued. I felt that this was "death by 1000 tips". They have free breakfast, but you need to tip. Free valet (actually included in resort fee) but again, tip will be expected. There is no option for self park. There is no option for self service ice, but they will bring it to your room. If you are like me, any time sometime knocks on the door, you will feel obligated to tip, even if they are replacing something that was empty or not functioning in the room. Very steep, long driveway to the road without a pedestrian walkway. The valet will bring you up in a golf cart. (tip?) There is a VERY small fridge, but you'll need to ask them to remove all the mini bar items. However, don't expect to keep any leftovers from the delicious restaurants in town because there is NO MICROWAVE. Also, NO FREEZER. So, if you like to freeze half a bottle of water for hiking, stay somewhere else. If there are 2 of you, ask for a second luggage rack. That can be provided. This may not be a big deal to many, but they have no matcha available at breakfast or any time. I actually bring my own, but with no microwave, it was either a room temp matcha latte or iced (cue call to front desk for ice.) Pool is advertised as heated and it was not. Minor minor annoyances: No shelf in shower for your own toiletries. Used amenities not restocked. No slippers. Checkout: I was suspicious that checkout may be difficult given a comment that was made when I checked in, so I gave myself extra time for that. At checkout I was presented a bill that didn't reflect any of my credits from booking thru my credit card. I was charged for a dinner that we never had. I was charged resort fees and taxes on those fees, which was supposed to be included in my prepaid booking. Unfortunately, the front desk person couldn't take care of these things and I had to wait for a manager to come in at 7am. We were trying to leave early to get to Phoenix for a flight, but we waited. The manager arrived and agreed with the fees. He looked thru all the receipts from the dinner in question and didn't find one for us, so agreed that that charge was incorrect. He agreed that our credits had not been applied correctly. This resulted in a balance change of almost $300. Took nearly 45 min. I was pleased that he fixed this for us, but still very disappointed that it had to happen at all and wasted our time when we were heading to the airport. Spa: There is a relaxation area and a locker room with steam room. Treatments were good, if overpriced. My husband was upsold on Himalayan salt rocks for his massage and didn't realize this was an additional charge resulting in a 60 min massage ringing in over $300. In his defense, I was in the room and didn't hear any discussion of pricing differences. They don't charge extra for couples massage, however. Just the price of the treatments, so that's a plus. Pros: While I would prefer to self park, the valet staff is very quick and courteous. They are also very quick to give you a ride up the driveway. Salt Rock restaurant has very tasty cocktails and food. Managers were accommodating. All in all, this is not my idea of luxury and didn't fit my tastes. I would not stay again.

We were treated like royalty at Amara Resort and Spa, they went above and beyond in every aspect of our stay. Front desk staff were so very helpful and great to work with. You ask them for services, information, etc. and they deliver promptly and with all smiles. Beautiful resort and we look forward to getting back there!

My husband and I stayed at Amara after a long road trip through the southwest so we were looking forward to relaxing. We had a patio facing room on the quiet side which was very lovely and felt like we were in a forest. The room itself was spacious, updated, and the bed was very comfortable. The pool and courtyard faces the red rocks and you can sit down by the creek as well. The hotel is also in the heart of Sedona which was great. I did also get a massage at the spa and while small, I enjoyed a few hours there. I was lucky to book through capital 1 portal which gave us a large discount, credit towards spa, and late check out. These additional perks made the stay worth it. I think if I paid full price we would have felt a bit underwhelmed. My only other issue was the ants in our room. Not the worst thing, but once they were on my suitcase and bed I lost it a bit (I have a deep hatred for ants). Front desk and housekeeping were very kind to spray, vacuum, change towels, sheets. But then they didn’t wipe the dead ants off the bathroom floor so that wasn’t ideal. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Amara Resort and Spa was amazing! My husband, daughter and I enjoyed our stay. The rooms were cozy, cool and quiet. The restaurant was absolutely delicious. The service was top notch. Our server, Erin made all the difference for us. She was friendly, incredibly attentive, efficient and made excellent recommendations. Erin was warm and kind to our daughter. We loved every second at this resort. Rooms, pool, spa, and food-all top notch!

I have spent the last few days at the Amara Resort celebrating my birthday with friends. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and highly recommend the hotel for its cleanliness, friendliness, helpfulness and great overall experience and location. Our breakfast on the patio was delightful, and we had dinner on the last night in the Salt Rock restaurant. Our server went above and beyond to make sure that our experience was top notch. Chef Niko came out and checked to also make sure that we were having a great experience. The food was hot timely flavorful.I am very fulfilling. Highly recommend the dungeonous crab empanadas. They were excellent! Churros were brought out for my birthday and were delicious. Valentina was so helpful throughout our stay, ensuring we always had everything we needed. The gentleman at the front desk ( can't remember his name right now) was very helpful since our arrival. Anytime we had questions he was always ready to help answer. He was personable and even remembered number of people in our party and things we discussed about our check-in. Overall, highly recommend for a quaint staff good vibes, great views, and exquisite food.

Amazing experience. You celebrated a milestone birthday and Valentina and Chef Niko were the best. The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal We’ve been here three nights and this was the best meal that we’ve had in the city!
