The quality of food in the Restaurant. Food extremely overpriced

I had an extremely disappointing and unsettling stay at Yosemite Valley Lodge, specifically in the Alder building. The parking situation was the first issue: the lot is tiny and full, forcing guests to park down the street. From there, you’re expected to lug your bags up to a second-floor room with no elevator and no staff assistance. Upon check-in, we discovered there was no hot water in the room. Shortly after, we found a dead mouse next to the bed. This is not just unpleasant—it is a serious health concern, especially given that hantavirus is known to be present in Yosemite Valley. I immediately called the front desk. The staff member was completely unfazed, which suggested this may not be an uncommon occurrence. I was told there were no other rooms available. I explicitly reminded him about the hantavirus risk and asked to speak with a manager. The manager said she would send maintenance staff trained in hantavirus cleanup. No one ever came. There was no follow-up, no apology, and no sense of urgency whatsoever. Given the situation, I asked to cancel the second night of my reservation. Her response was simply, “Perfect.” Between the lack of basic amenities, the absence of guest support, and the complete disregard for a legitimate health hazard, this stay was unacceptable. Yosemite is a special place, but this lodge does not meet even minimal standards of cleanliness, safety, or hospitality. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

Great location. Water fall is in walking distance. You can't top that. There is even bus station at lodge site.

Only problem is the sound isolation. I can hear my neighbors talking.

Location is perfect to stay in the park.

Very outdated rooms, dirty and well used. Facilities around the hotel are poor and made for the fast food tourism. For the money paid very disappointing.

The stairs going up to the room was filled with fallen needles, slipped. Lighting at night by the stairs was inadequate. The room was nice and cozy. The shower curtain smelled of body odor old wet mop. Can you please have better coffee makers? I‘ve stayed in cheap motels with better coffee makers. The Mountain Room restaurant is do not worth the $277 dinner for two. The service was uninspired and they need to get a better chef. Why ask for the occasion when making a reservation if you weren’t doing anything about it? Disappointing experience here. If it wasn’t close to the falls, this place will be overrated.

De ligging in Yosemite park was perfect. Meteen in de ochtend op pad (met de shuttlebus) om het park te ontdekken.

De huisjes en inrichting zijn een beetje gedateerd maar wel prima.
