SpringHill Suites by Marriott Lansing West

Everything was new/updated & clean. I also liked that I could open the window in my room (3rd floor). I hate hotel rooms with windows permanently shut. Also, the location is perfect, nearby shops & restaurants.

The staff was incredible. Specifically, the woman who worked the night shift. She had a full hotel with a ton of kids and room issues and she handled it like a boss. If she lived in my area, I would have offered her a job on the spot. They had a really nice breakfast selection to choose from.

My room was dirty upon check-in. There was hair on the shower floor, the towels that were hanging by the sink were either dirty or stained, and there were crumbs in the trundle bed. I also booked this hotel specifically for the pool and hot tub amenities; and we got to use the pool once. The pool/hot tub were also filthy. Black dirt all around the edges. People had scratched their names and different things into the dirt that ran along the inside walls of the pool. The last 2 days we were there, the pool was shut down. Disappointing to say the least. I tried to reach out to management but never got a reply.
