SpringHill Suites by Marriott Lansing West

We were greeted pleasantly on arrival and the check-in was smooth. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The king-sized bed was also comfortable. Unfortunately, the jets in the advertised hot tub were not operational. Upon questioning, the front desk clerk admitted that the jets hadn't worked at all since she has worked there (about two years), and the owners "didn't want to put money into it." So if a soak in a whirlpool is something you look forward to at a hotel (as I do), find someplace else.

I will say rooms are on large size and clean on pro side. Cons, parking lot pitch dark, they have 2 lights at entrance that gives light to about 10 cars, but as traveling alone arriving at 10:00 PM, I had to park further down and unload and walk in the dark. I even asked the girl when I checked in if there was any problems ever because there’s no lights and she kind of laughed and said we only have those two lights right out front so that’s huge if you are traveling alone or even if you’re just trying to get your luggage out of car. As for breakfast, absolutely horrible a ham and cheese an egg croissant that actually look like the ones that you pull out of the plastic put in the microwave and then some type of egg quiche. Everything was cold. I will be traveling to this area quite often, and will say I will never stay here again

Upon arrival, I was given a room that was not ready. The linen was not on the bed and the room was in disarray. The second room I was given was okay except the toilet was nasty. There was evidence of poop stains in the toilet bowl. I was initially told it was rust, but asked housekeeping to clean it anyway…and it came off. Lastly, on the day of check-out, the elevator broke and I had to carry two large and heavy suitcases down three flight of stairs. I was completely surprised with the poor quality of this establishment. It’s usually much better.

Our room was spacious and well-appointed. Nice bed, linens, and shower. Good location and parking. I haven’t stayed at Spring Hill Suites before, but I will now. The price was great for all the amenities.
