Tava Motel Manitou Springs

The outdoor patio table and chair area was a real bonus for enjoying the mountain air. Good location for walking to restaurants and the lovely local park.

The pool was too chilly to really enjoy.

The location and the friendly and helpful staff.

The room was pretty dirty and the bed was lumpy.

A rather basic hotel, which seems like it was lost somewhere in the 1990s and has not seen much maintenance or updates since then. For some reason, all the light bulbs were very low wattage, so even with all the lights turned on, it was still dark and rather gloomy in the room. The bed mattress was also one of the worst we had in the US, being very soft and you could roll off if too close to the edge. A bit of maintenance, a new coat of paint and a few other things could make a significant improvement to the perception of the hotel rooms. Outlook: Second-floor room with a window view out over the common parking area. Decor: Rather dated, but somewhat functional. Desk & electrical sockets: Desk with accessible power socket, no USB charging ports. In-room safe: No Breakfast: Very basic American-style buffet with limited choices of cereal, waffles or muffins, yoghurt, and brewed coffee – that's all folks.
