Sandman Hotel Castlegar

It was quiet and the room was ok. It's an older building that needs some updating but otherwise there's nothing wrong with it. Didn't try the pool although it looked good from my window. Having an inside window made the room I was in quite all the time.

This is an older property but a nice hotel. I was surprised that they only had one luggage cart. Also there were no chairs in the room but the one at the desk. With all the technology we use today, there were very few plug-ins in the room except behind the tv stand & night stand. The bed was very comfortable & we had a good rest.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of hotel. Staff was great. Room was clean and functional. Very good tv and remote is a big thing for me. Nice and quiet during my 1 night here. Many food options close by. Did not use pool or gym.

The hotel unfortunately did not meet our expectations in terms of cleanliness. Garbage bags filled the hallways at check in time. Poor timing. We found stinkbugs crawling around our room, which is totally unacceptable. The staff was very friendly at the reception, but could not help in this situation and we left to stay at the Super 8 across the street. Bug free!

When we arrived the room had a GIANT spider in the window attached to the curtains and multiple stink bugs. There was dust over everything. It appeared to have been cleaned at some point but not recently. I asked for it to be cleaned the next day. We left from 10am to 330pm and no one had come by. They were only attending rooms on our floor after 4pm to clean which is too late! Nothing was offered as compensation for not cleaning the room except for a complimentary breakfast which was already included with our room purchase!

The room was much bigger than expected, very clean and recently renovated. We liked the bathroom and the layout of the room.

Unfortunately the tv remote would only give us 2 channels and the volume button was stuck. The air conditioning remote was so complicated we managed to work it without it but then didn’t move off a certain temperature and was so loud sleep was not too good. Bed and linens great!

Great location and the continental breakfast was very good.

Good value for a clean, quiet and comfortable room. Staff were excellent!
