Kumarakom Lake Resort

The setting

Resort did not feel luxurious, quaint maybe but not luxurious. The sunset boat trip something in nothing and could not hear the commentary a simple microphone would have helped.

Good food, location

Rooms were smaller than expected. Would have appreciated a late check out, which didn't happen

Grounds and gardens are really well kept and maintained. Huge, spacious room and bathroom. The hour-long sunset chill boat ride on the lake is a good way to wind down.

For this sort of money in India, you'd expect a more rounded experience. The wifi is atrocious and it would have been deemed unacceptable 15 years ago. If I didn't specify that I wanted a cold beer, it would get a lukewarm beverage, or nothing by the pool as you can be sat there for 2 hours without any of the three staff members hanging around coming over to you to check if you need anything like a towel, the parasol to open or a sour coffee from the machine that had not been properly cleaned inside for months. Even though the room was charming all the light fixtures were bright neon that you would see in a municipal dentist's surgery in the 1980s.

Well we felt so relaxed and comfortable even forgot the day or week day

Not For Cost

The service is impeccable. Beyond expectations. The resort is serene, spacious but the atmosphere is of a close family. Food is excellent.

There is nothing to like.
