Chateau St Gerlach

My boyfriend and I were delighted in our stay at the chateau. As an interior designer, it was over the top for me to stay in a lovely historical chateau. With our inexpensive Expedia price, we were put up in a room that was a little cheaply decorated compared to the rest of the property. Although comfortable, our ceiling was plywood with a little faux finish. The main chateau where the restaurants and apartments were was incredible. We paid $254 for our night. We would stay again. Eat at the bistro to save money... the food is first rate. I had the frog legs and sweet breads, my boyfriend slow cook salmon and dorade white fish with a cheese course. All fantastic! We are glad that we stumbled upon this magnificent hotel. It is rated as Holland's #1 Chateau.

Stayed at 2 bed/2 bath apartment, requested for apartment with terrace but was not accommodated though available. Front desk on weekdays was mostly efficient though famale receptionists on duty during weekend were cold, abrupt and unable to offer information regarding neaby towns. Housekeeping, bristro and resstaurant, on the other hand, offered excellent service.

Nicely renovated Chateau in the South of Holland. Good restaurant in the premises, expensive, but really nice. Spa is good. Wonderful stay for a weekend.

We very much enjoyed staying at this castle property. The estate property is stunning. Our room was in the hotel building and it was lovely. This is also where the delicious breakfast buffet is served. The chapel attached to the castle is a magnificent structure. Don't miss seeing it! There is also a wonderful indoor pool in the castle. While the castle houses the dining room and bistro, we found their lunch and dinner menus very limited and very expensive, so we didn't eat at either place, but we did explore them and they were beautiful. We found a lovely hotel restaurant in the village, that served a huge, delicious dinner for a very reasonable price. Strolling the immaculate, extensive grounds with their well laid out gardens and statuary was so calming. We felt like aristocrats at Chateau Saint Gerlach.

Fantastic from start to finish

We stumbled onto this gem of a hotel, because everything in Aachen was booked for the night. It is a beautiful old country chateau (and formerly a working abbey in earlier centuries), updated to modern standards and operating as a hotel. The room we had was an apartment with 2 bedrooms, excellent for families traveling with children. The grounds for the hotel include broad, beautiful lawns with sculpture throughout, as well as several different rose & formal gardens and walking paths with stunning landscaping. I think they only have 30-some rooms, so it's a very relaxed, quiet vibe even when full. The hotel was very reasonably priced, especially considering the spacious rooms and the high-class experience that comes with a stay here. We slept with the dormer windows open, and awoke to the sound of bells tolling in the nearby town and birds chirping in the gardens. No street noise, no delivery or garbage trucks doing their business all night, just a relaxing stay at a swank resort. It was wonderfully relaxing, and easily worth twice the price. Highly recommended if you want the experience of a stay at an Old European Resort.

Well located property 30 minutes from Maastricht. Spectacular buildings with nice rooms and beautiful surroundings. Hotel is clearly well-run with discreet efficiency. Highly recommended..

This hotel is a wonderful experience. You are very nicely looked after and the bar, bistro and restaurant are real highlights. We also enjoyed a great day at the spa where my new wife and I enjoyed a hot stone massage. Having said all that it is worth noting that some things are more expensive than they should be, especially breakfast, so be careful as you are charging things to your room!

Nice but overprices for the level of comfort.

Stunning hotel, you will never forget the first time you arrive. Service was, as ever, excellent - from the email asing if we were bringing the dog this year (so they could allocate us a more suitable room) to the phone call to ensure we had our arrangements sorted out for New Year's eve.
