Chateau St Gerlach

Hotel property is some of the best we’ve stayed at. Excellent location and beautifull grounds. Upon booking I requested a room upgrade as we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. This did not happen, a little disappointing. They did leave some cake in our room. Staff was sufficient with the exception of 1 barman, he was excellent and very helpful!

Second time we stayed at Chateau St Gerlach and loved it. Such a beautiful estate.

The Hotel st. Gerlach is a jewel in the Province of Limburg. Great EVERYTHING. I have only one caveat. There was a massive unusual heatwave throughout Holland during our stay, and day temperatures reached into the mid-90's. Unfortunately, the area of the hotel where we stayed had no air conditioning at all..and our room had only a fan and windows that would barely open. It was, sadly, uncomfortably hot. The hotel was not built for this unusual weather. So if a cool room is a must, wait until the weather cools down before booking, Otherwise, everything else is FIVE STAR in this hotel.

Really enjoyed staying here, nice room, sizeable, comfortable bed, helpful staff, shuttle to town available also bikes and vespas for hire. Tried three out of four eating places, food in both excellent. Bistro staff very friendly and helpful. The grounds were outstanding, well laid out and kept. Interesting sculptures, beautiful orchard, lovely rose gardens, great to sit in and enjoy the surroundings.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting that allows dogs! The hotel is such a gem of a find. I have no idea how I stumbled upon it, but I'm glad I did. It's a place we will return to when we feel like treating ourselves. The downside of travelling with a dog from the UK is that we have to go by car the long way around as flying with our canine family member in cargo is just not a real option and Eurostar is still the only train not allowing dogs. Boring. BUT, the advantage is that we always discover something new. We would have never been in the Maastricht area if not travelling with a dog. So it is amazing when places like this allow dogs, as now we will actually come back on purpose. The hotel setting is just stunning. Sculpture park, rose garden, orchards. It's so relaxing to just stroll around. You can hire a bike, get your lunch as a picnic, borrow wellies when the weather is a bit wet. We didn't have a chance to try the main restaurant and went to their bistro, but we didn't feel like missing out. The food was amazing! Wonderful quality and really interesting flavour combinations. And again, our dog was very welcome to rest under the table. At the entrance of the property is also a separate cafe, which was just as lovely. A lot of the ingredients are locally sourced and we were super excited to take home an apple & pear butter made with their orchard produce and honey that was harvested 3 weeks ago from their own beehive.

Amazing location, beautiful rooms, friendly staff. Went hiking and then did an underground bikeride in a morel cave. Spa was a bliss. Food in the bistro/restaurant is also excellent, but a bit expensive.

Gorgeous property with a beautiful array of artwork covering the gardens. A perfect quiet stay for our family.

Great service, beautiful estate. Rooms are comfortable but a bit dated. We had an excellent dinner in the Bistrot. Great location for day trips in the area. Would go again.

Very charming and historical location...I was lodged in the "farm house" portion which was just as quaint as the chateau was grand which houses the larger family sized suites.
