We absolutely loved our stay at La Puerta Azul. The property was beautiful and clean. The staff were very kind. The food and atmosphere at the beach club was great. This hotel was on the quieter end of the island but the walk into town was easy. Would definitely recommend- can’t wait to return!

Great hotel ! Very quiet and relaxing place to stay. Was located on one of the nicest stretches of beach that I saw. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are a few great options for food very close by. The hotel restaurant on the beach did a great job as well. Delicious margaritas that were 2 for 1 all day :) I would definitely stay here again. It is a bit far from town, about a 20 minute walk or a 200 pesos cab ride. Really difficult to walk the beach into town because some of the hotels are built to the waters edge. I did enjoy being away from the crowds.

"Not really worth your money"

While the room is very nice and clean, the hotel did overall not feel worth the money. Firstly, it is not a true adults only hotel. One part of the hotel (the villa) does allow kids. The beach is definitely not the best part of Holbox. (quite narrow and the water is muddier). Also, there is construction debris in the water right in front of the hotel. The hotel‘s armchairs do not have any pillows and are therefore very uncomfortable.
