Hotel Boutique La Puerta Azul Beachfront - Adults Only

I want to give this property a higher rating, but I just can't. For the room, staff, breakfast and property condition I'd give it 5 stars! All of that was wonderful. However, to call the hotel 'adults only' is not accurate. There was a family with 3 small children staying at the hotel. Plus the beach restaurant on the hotel property allows children to be at the restaurant meaning there were children running around all over the beach and using beach chairs all day long. If you're going to call the property adults Only- then you need to set policies around the hotel restaurant as well. We left to eat at other places because of how many children there were, when we would have gladly have eaten at the hotel. Another bad point of the hotel is that we chose it for being slightly away from town because we wanted a quiet relaxing experience. However, the hotel next door would loud bass thumping music from 3:30-11ish every day. And then sometimes the La Puerta Azul restaurant would have a DJ and the music would complete making it the least relaxing environment. So overall, I would not recommend this hotel despite some of it's great qualities.

The location is not bad but the receptionist and some staff was very rude and unfriendly. Restaurant doesn’t open until 9am even when they told us it would be open at 8am. Very inconvenient to have limited access to food or anything to drink before 9am or after 6:30pm. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Me gustó mucho el hotel. Staff amable y la playa esta retirada del centro por lo que se siente más privada.

Liked property. Missing shower head. Loved staff at the beach club.

Es sumamente limpio, no se si es nuevo o renovado pero es verdaderamente limpio, en perfecto estado, bastante luz en los espacios, frente al mar con sus camastros y sobre todo un lugar para disfrutar de paz y tranquilidad si es lo que estás buscando. Me encantó y seguramente regresaré Muchas gracias. También tienen atención pre-arrival lo cual es top.

Nos gustó mucho la puerta azul azul. Tiene acceso a la playa que es muy tranquila. La habitación es cómoda y confortable, el personal muy atento y dispuesto.

We spent a week at this property. Unfortunately rained most of the days there, but in general the property is well located and safe. This property is closer to Playa Cocos and a good walk to the main city (15-20 mins walk). It is about an hour walking to Playa Mosquito. The property is rustic (plain and simple). No major amenities, except a pool in the middle of the property, and a tiki bar that it is open throughout the day until after sunset, where you can get drinks while at the beach. Front desk personnel were very informative, and helpful providing details about the area, the property, and the island in general. Our special thanks to Francisco, who was in charge of the breakfast area every single day, and to Manuel, who covered for him while he was on days off. Both guys are super. Breakfast choices very good, and delicious. We noticed that portions were a bit small, and no option to ask for more. All very much measured. Property is beachfront, but the "ocean view rooms" have limited view of the beach, and not a full clear view as other properties do have. Expect to see a couple of iguanas wondering around as part of the island/beach life. In general, a good place to stay.

El acceso directo a la playa y el beach club

Albergo direttamente sul mare, raggiungibile a piedi dal porto di Holbox in 25 minuti o, meglio, in 10 minuti prendendo uno dei numerosi taxi quad locali. La camera spaziosa con un piccolo terrazzo è fronte mare. Sulla spiaggia vi sono numerosi lettini a disposizione dei clienti dell'hotel. È presente anche un bar/ristorante sulla spiaggia. La colazione è preparata al momento ed è molto buona. Il management dell'hotel è efficiente: hanno risolto in breve tempo una pratica di rimborso. Note dolenti sono le zanzare onnipresenti ed aggressive. Inoltre avevo delle aspettative più alte per il mare che, sebbene non fosse sporco, aveva una torbidità che non ti permetteva di fare snorkeling.
