Kihei Akahi - Maui Condo & Home

Well it was okay. The place is very close to the beach (few minutes away), however the condition of the 1 of the 2 rooms we booked when we got there was not okay. The weather was really warm to humid, so we we’re hoping that the our room or unit has AC working. Though they have left a note for us that the Ac is not working and parts have been ordered for repair. We could have stayed at the other unit but since this unit is closer to the beach, we decided to stay here instead. Our overall stay was okay and nice as the place is closer to other establishments as well. The office person (Norma) was super accomodating and helpfull too.

There was only one A/C in the living room which did not reach the bed room. The hallway lights made the bedroom bright all night. Then there were the roaches.

Asked for more toilet paper through their app. Didn't seem to work...ran our of toilet paper asked for it on app they have you download for stay.never got paper or shampoo. I should have called instead of using their app system. I asked to extend our check out time from 11am to 5pm, thankfully unit was available and we stayed till 5pm. $10 bucks extra per hour not bad!!! No body comes around for house keeping, i assume you have to call and request...never really needed it.. but when I did really need the toiletries I called and it was out of working hours at 5 pm, nobody works after 5 and you have to leave a message.

Excellent stay, set up for check in and out is easy and simple. No hastles. In a prime location across the road from the beach and not very far from the shops!! Would definitely stay here again if I come which I would love to!! Also pretty good price for what you get!

Great location. Expensive for very outdated room. Bed was not comfortable.

The perfect place to stay in Kihei. Easy communication and simple check-in. Our room was clean and we had all we need in it.

The complex is well maintained and clean, the staff is friendly. The individual units are independently owned, and depending on the unit you receive will depend on your experience. Unit D-209 is in desperate need of updating. The mattress needs to be replaced, the linin need to be replaced the kitchen is the original kitchen from the 1970’s. There is no A/C. These issues are not of the complex but it does have a significant reflection. We would not stay there again.

I was a little weary about not having A/C in unit D209. There were strong winds when we first got there so there was strong breezes through the unit and it was fine. The last couple of days was more still and not as much breeze so it was a tad hot and uncomfortable. Honestly, the ceiling fans helped but even just a couple of box fans to move the air and it would be fine. The elevator right by the bedroom was no problem at all. The condos are gorgeous and they even had a botanical walk we did that was great. The office gave us a key to the pool so we could shower there after check out before our flight and that was very helpful (check out at 11 and we didn't have to be at airport for a few hours). The pools are both nice. It was a little confusing on how to get a parking permit and we didn't have that at first since we got there after the office was closed and we got a nasty little note. It would be nice if the parking pass was left in the unit prior to check in just like the pool key is left there. This unit had beach chairs and umbrella which was nice to be able to take to beach right across the room (wish I would have found those sooner!) And btw, the beach right across the street (#3) had the BEST snorkeling of all that we did. So many sea turtles and great snorkelling. Maybe that was just because it was the best weather on that day wehn we went there but it was tremendous. Unit could use a few more glasses but having the blender/stove/microwave was great!

The condo we stayed in was laid out terribly. If you wanted airflow through the space, you'd have to leave your front door open as the windows in the bedroom were boarded up, otherwise you'd have to keep the AC on. The balcony/lanai were practically nonexistent, we kept getting dripped on by the AC units above us and there is no covering so sunlight and rain were major issues. The bathtub would almost not drain, when you turn on the shower, there's almost 3 inches of water in under a minute and it took almost 10 minutes to drain. There was no venting in the bathroom at all, so steam and stink stayed in there almost perpetually; there is a physical vent, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere or be cleaned out because a bunch of dust and lint came falling out one day.

Unit needs an upgrade especially the room. Did not sleep in the room because it’s so stuff. No window or air conditioning.
