Castle Waikīkī Shore

Unit does have AC, close to main street in Waikiki Beach, lots of restaurants and beach area itself. Just be mindful of surrounding noise. If that is something you are used to, then maybe not an issue for you. Parking is $40 US a day. Parking is difficult to find & can be costly in other areas. It is just unfortunate that they are charging an additional cost as each unit should have come with a parking spot in any event, one would assume. Also note parking is tight unground but secure. Only 2 elevators (one for each side) so long waits. Mostly took the stairs.

Room 318 - terrible. Note the condos are privately owned & some are run by Castle Waikiki Shore others by Airbnb or other sites. Some modernized, others not. With respect to unit 318 – the beds are the worst. Q bed in small room & 2 T (not XL) in a space you close by a blind. As a couple we could not sleep in the Q bed. The mattress sagged so bad that you would roll into the middle. We had to take the T beds and put our son in the Q bed. There was a bar or something in the middle of the Q which made it so uncomfortable for him to sleep in. We complained to the front desk & Derek, did make an effort to move us but unfortunately, they were booked. The T beds also sagged. Pillows old. Unit is first corner room above check-in & garage parking so you could hear that noise on top of the street noise as it faced the park & main ST (roundabout). Balcony faces park with little view of ocean as so trees in the way. If you want to see the fireworks you need to be a room closer to the water & higher up. At night you can hear the (party) people walking along the building. On the other side, you can hear the cleaning staff and guests from the hotel located next door as their balcony’s face that side. TV did not work nor did the phone. We had to walk downstairs to the reception area. They could not assist as there was no one available (we did ask later in the day around 7 pm but nobody came the next day to fix it). Kitchen was poorly stocked. We had to ask for a fan to help with the street noise. The unit is dated. Bathroom was not clean with hair from previous guest, water stains, rotting wood/doors, etc. I would not suggest renting this unit, at least until the owners have updated the mattresses so future guests can have a comfortable night’s sleep. We paid almost $1,350 CDN per night to for this unit. Completely not worth it!

Being close to the beach was amazing.

That the hotel staff did not care about the we quality of our stay. They blamed booking.com for why our room came with two twins rather than a king bed, which is what we booked. Front desk indicated that you have to contact the resort prior to your arrival in order to guarantee the room you actually booked. They are not cross referencing the booking to what they give you once you arrive.

Location and view from room was amazing.

It was old and carpet was not clean well.

The location was right on the beach! We had views of the coastline in both directions. The rooms were spacious including two bedrooms and main living room and kitchen with windows all around.
