Hotel Wailea, Relais & Châteaux - Adults Only

Highest level of service I’ve ever received at a hotel! The adults only boutique resort offers a serene relaxing property quietly tucked away on hill yet close enough to the action for those who want it. We used the complimentary car service often and were always welcomed back by hotel staff with a smile. House keeping went above and beyond to make sure our room was tidy, and they always found a way to not let us see when they were trying to access the room. The pool along with the staff were incredible , I can’t say enough great things- even before our arrival Shannan helped plan some excursions and on site bookings (thank you). Service at its finest!

I purchased their most expensive room with a view..$1500 per night. My room, the Celebration Ocean View needed to be completely repainted because of very noticeable large touch up spots in both livingroom and bedroom. My ocean view suite was interrupted with continuous traffic noise. My in room breakfasts were lukewarm and not tasty. My refreshments were not refilled by housekeeping as promised. Guest Services offered a $150 nightly to compensate for my more than warranted concerns. This is how Hotel Wailea handles a guest's who is unhappy with major issues that now result in negative reviews on this site and others.

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Every encounter we had with hotel staff was extremely pleasant. Everyone was helpful and made us feel home away from home. The pool was amazing, the restaurants were incredible, and the overall atmosphere was unforgettable. My husband and I loved all the complimentary wellness classes and complimentary outrigger canoe tour. We also did the bike ride and luxe picnic. I highly recommend you take advantage of all the perks of the property. You won’t forget it. I also want to give a special thanks to the valet/drivers! They were all so nice and gave us some of the best advice on where to eat off the property. Thank you so much to everyone!

Everything was 10/10. I definitely rec renting a cabana and doing the lux beach picnic experience. I only have 2 complaints! 1. I believe servers should be informed when patrons are hotel residents to avoid unnecessary inconvenience. On the first night of our honeymoon, the hostess kindly asked for our room number and escorted us to our table. However, the server then requested to see our IDs, which required my husband to return to our villa to retrieve them. She also questioned my birthdate in a way that felt rude and unnecessary. The reservation was under my name, and as a 34-year-old physician, I was surprised and disappointed by the tone and nature of her questioning. Had the server been made aware that we were hotel guests, this situation—and the discomfort it caused at the start of our special evening—could have been avoided. 2.We had signed up for the Chef’s Garden Table to celebrate the last night of our honeymoon, but a few hours before our reservation, the hotel called to inform us that due to light showers, we would be seated elsewhere at The Restaurant. We had been expecting a special, private dining experience, but were instead seated in the same spot as our first night’s dinner at The Restaurant. While the food and service—especially from the chef and pastry chef—were outstanding (10/10), we were disappointed because we had been really looking forward to the privacy and unique atmosphere of the garden table experience.

Design wise was little 2012…remodel was 2014-2015. outdated tv etc Partial ocean view interior differes BIG time vs “Celebration” ( website pics 2023)! Room is big, layout is odd: SHOWER is IN YOUR WALK IN WARDROBE!!! LOL ( unworn ruined silk clothes on day two) uncomfy bed. Service was inconsistent (from great to mediocre, depended on the person) big tips didn’t help. heavy on honeymooners, no cool vibe in the hotel, introverts. PROS: open air gym, sunset views, pancakes, birds and mini jungle feel. cons: concierge/front desk was dial broken. everything is an add on, u r cool if u want to $$$. newer cars (Mercedes and Range Rover were not available Lol), restaurant room service was OK and 90 min wait. Unfortunately hotel didn’t do it for me in 2025

This is an extraordinary place to stay on Maui. This place is incredible- the grounds, the suites; the service were the best of the best. The food in both the restaurants was extraordinarily delicious. It’s serene and impeccable. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with my stay, I only wish I stayed longer! I would highly recommend and can’t what to go back.

Already at the check in we had an amazing experience thanks to wonderful Jessica! We were welcomed with lei’s and champagne. She was so warm and friendly, immediately we felt at home. Every hotel needs a Jessica! The whole venue was beautiful and very well taken care of and we just wanted to move into our room and never leave. It was so beautiful! And very delicious food and drinks, great pool, amazing location.. and so on, and so on.

The setting is beautiful and very peaceful, and the guest services team were lovely. The shuttle to nearby shops and restaurants was a great service and much appreciated, especially as we didn’t have a car. We ordered room service breakfast the morning after our wedding and it was absolutely delicious — a real highlight

We stayed one night after our wedding and unfortunately the experience didn’t feel as special as we hoped. We didn’t have cash for tipping — our mistake — but we were surprised there was no ATM or cashback option on site. We had to take an Uber round-trip to Kihei just to withdraw money, which was stressful on a day we’d hoped to relax. The pool bar doesn’t accept cash, and none of our cards worked there, so drinks were charged to the room. It made for a few awkward moments. We received a note of congratulations, but no other welcome gesture. We noticed some guests mentioned being greeted with champagne or snacks — we didn’t receive anything like that. Maybe those are only available for longer stays, which we understand. But for the price, it felt underwhelming. We know Hotel Wailea sees a lot of weddings and honeymoons, but for us, this was a once-in-a-lifetime moment. We just hoped it might have felt like one.

Outstanding interesting property. This was a Japanese businessmen private club previously and it has been transformed into something serine. I highly recommend staying here for chill and fairly zen experience. The crap cakes for breakfast is the way to go and the truffle burger by the pool was also memorable. The gym weights are in kilos. I thought I was totally out of shape and committed to not missing a gym day. That mis calculation has me living the sorest legs.
