OUTRIGGER Kona Resort and Spa

I just wanted to say that we came here for our honey. Oon after getting married at the outrigger in Lahaina in maui. Both of these places are phenomenal. The outrigger in kona has to great bartenders, Ritchie and Pedro. Both are great at what they do and have great suggestions. My, now, wife and I highly recommend both of these locations. The location is great with scenic views. Plenty of activities to keep you occupied, as well.

Our first time in Kona--Outrigger resort can't be beat! Utilizing a Travelzoo voucher we weren't sure what to expect. Beautiful grounds, large room. Well-appointed. Hydration stations ale we where. Lovely art and architecture. Loved the manta viewing deck and V 47 lounge that was included--Tessa, Sharlaine, Braulio, LJ, and Kainoa were friendliest! Mahalo! Top-notch location-close to Kona Country club for golf. Nightly music by the restaurant. Wed and Fri farmers market, Tues food trucks. Tiana and Spencer at the front desk were very professional and helpful. Thank you, Sally! Highly recommend. Hope to be back soon!

I love the Voyager47 lounge. The daily signature dish is a highlight. Keep cooking up good eats. 😁 There is plenty of space in Voyager47. It's a great place to meet before dinner or in place of dinner if you just want light bites.

This was another extended stay for me at the Outrigger (10 days). I feel at home and so comfortable here. The kindness and warmth that I encountered daily exemplifies the true Aloha spirit. V47 staff: Zach, Tessa, Sharlaine, Fred, Celeste, Kai & LJ - thank you all and tell Chef I enjoyed his menus every night. Letty, you took such good care of me and I appreciate you more than you know! I had requested a room in a specific area and I was THRILLED with the location. The reception area staff is always amazing as are the crew in Valet parking. Another reason I love this place are the grounds. They are beautiful. Lots of room to roam and lovely spaces to just sit and take it all in. Although I had places to visit, I also had days that I simply enjoyed the resort. This trip was everything I needed it to be and more. Mahalo nui loa my friends!

Outrigger is a great landing spot away from the touristy Kona area and close to some great snorkeling. Tiana was a very gracious front desk greeter and was very efficient in getting us checked in and informed about the various activities. It is great that you can swim at the shoreline access area as well as in the pool. The Manta Ray night snorkel was absolutely fabulous with Eka Canoe. I took the Beginning Ukulele class twice and the young man who taught it was fabulous and gave us a history of how the ukulele arrived in the islands. We also did the pool Yoga class with Huda who was lovely. Our room had. a super comfy bed and the room was very spacious with a balcony. Our housekeeper was very helpful when I needed a few things. As an FYI, you can borrow a microwave from the desk which might come in handy. I also borrowed an electric tea kettle. Outigger offers a great resort experience for a reasonable cost as a middle tier hotel. Mahalo!

I had a great experience at Piko Coffee Bar! The drinks and service are amazing. I came for a couple drinks, and my host Faith was super friendly and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond, making my drinks, taking the time to give me information about the ocean life in the area and recommending activities to check out!

This stay was absolutely amazing. After a flight cancelation we returned to the resort for another 4 days and Veronica at the front desk went above and beyond to ensure we had our dream ocean front room with a bedroom, 2 stunning decks (one facing the garden and the main deck ,with a private cabana facing the ocean). As a disabled person, this allowed me to enjoy the resort like I have not been able to in over 25 years since my back was broken. This was an invaluable experience and I have Vernoica at the front desk to thank for it all. What started out as a nightmare (due to sever physical pain from a full day at the airport) was transformed into the stay of a lifetime at the Outrigger resort and spa. All thanks to Veronica! I hope she receives a raise as her care and concern for her job has lead us to becoming members of Outriggers Voyager 47 Club and book only at Outrigger resorts during all our travels. The resort is lucky to have such a valued employee as Veronica. Also the whole of the resort was immaculate. The quality, cleanliness, amenities, & all staff. We really appreciated the professionalism, friendliness and care from housekeeping, restaurants, lifeguards and the groundskeepers and security. All who were a delight and very friendly. This experience showed me that vacationing is still attainable and enjoyable for a person such as myself. Thank you

We recently stayed at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa for our anniversary, and overall we had a wonderful experience. Our room was excellent, the grounds were beautiful, and the amenities throughout the resort were truly top notch. A special highlight of our trip was the V47 Lounge. Tess and Sharlaine went above and beyond to take care of us—warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. Their service made our stay feel extra special. We also want to recognize the valet team. The guys were consistently kind, fast, and incredibly accommodating. They work hard, and we hope all guests appreciate them as much as we did! The luau dinner was another standout—it was absolutely spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The food, the hospitality, and the show itself were all stunning. We highly recommend it. The only area that fell short for us was the Piko restaurant. While the servers were very nice, service was slow at times, and the prices didn’t match the quality—especially the coffee and several of the meals. Additionally, many wines on the wine list were unavailable, which made ordering a bit challenging. We don’t mind paying for great food and service, but the value just wasn’t there. Lastly, we wish guest services were a bit more proactive in addressing disruptive guest behavior. Guests should be able to relax without feeling like they need to intervene. Despite these issues, we truly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the warmth and hospitality from so many members of the team. With a few improvements, this could easily be a five-star experience.
