"GOOD STAY BUT EXTRACTOR WAS ANNOYING."

LOCATION NEAR TO RACECOURSE

WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE A RESTAURANT ONSITE. AL;SO THE EXTRACTOR IN THE BATHROOM WAS VERY LOUD AND GOES ON FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES. EVEN IF YOU DO NOT PUT THE BATHROOM LIGHT ON THE OPENING OF THE DOOR TRIGGERS THE EXTRACTOR. THIS RESULTED IN NOT BEING ABLE TO GET BACK TO SLEEP FOR WHAT SEEMED AGES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AS THE EXTRACTOR WAS SO LOUD AND LONG.

* the building has a nice ambiance and tastefully decorated. * very nice rear garden with veranda where you can sit with drinks from the bar. The end of the garden has a river and picnic tables. * Room 1 was spacious and could see the Cathedral from the window. En-suite was spacious and had a bath with shower screen which was clean and functional. * Location is near enough to the town to walk - the walk along the Harnham Water Meadows into town is highly recommended. The reception offered evening transport into / back from town so no issues struggling with parking in the city etc.

* as an observation the shower had some limescale build up causing some holes to stop working which could have easily been removed with regular maintenance. However surprised that the hotel had not installed a water softener. * the bottle bin was emptied at 05:40 am which woke us up as very loud. As a constructive suggestion the bin could be rolled out towards the roadside to prevent disturbing guests!
