"A Relaxing Visit to a Stunning Town"

We received a warm welcome from the receptionist and offered a list of recommended restaurants for dinner, as the hotel does not offer an evening meal. The receptionist then took us to our room, a nice touch. The room was large and simply and tastefully furnished and decorated. We had a garden room (room 15) which was a nice , although it offered little in the way of a view. The air conditioning was very effective, which we used instead of going to sleep with the door open. The bathroom was a good sized, plenty of comfortable towels and some toiletries. A minor criticism, no matter how far you turned the tap in the bath it never reached a temperature where some cold needed to be added. On each night we availed our selves of the free shuttle service into town, operated by an efficient and helpful Isaac. After dinner on each night we declined a shuttle back and instead walked through the parkland between the town and the hotel, or through the Cathedral grounds. You should allow 25 mins for this very pleasant walk. Included in the hotel rate that we chose was breakfast. It is worth doing so. There was a small dining room, but with a facility to move through an archway into the bar area if the restaurant was crowded. There was a full English breakfast, lots of fruit, yogurt, cereals, croissants and bread. The tea and coffee were nothing special. There was cook on duty who would cook eggs to your liking on order. The car park at the front was spacious and there was never a problem in finding a parking spot. There were also two EV chargers. We found the whole experience to be very enjoyable, especially being able to stroll for 15 mins to reach the Cathedral which was well worth a visit. If we ever find ourselves in Salisbury we would not hesitate to stay at The Riverside.

"We were only there 1 night and it was fine."

Location and setting was very nice. Staff pleasant. Room was a good size and well appointed.

Breakfast was acceptable, though we had to ask for plates and eggs as not replenished quickly enough. We requested coffee in the evening but the machine was being cleaned so only tea in offer.
