The Riverside

Its perfect for short stay and the location is great as there is a lovely walk to the Cathedral. They also put on a complimentary cab service. Great after a meal in Salisbury you can get picked up and taken back to the Hotel in the evenings, really helpful. Staff really helpful too.

The breakfast buffet was alright, but staff seemed to have a difficult time keeping up : missing plates, shortage of fruit. They could invest in a coffee machine for the guests. The coffee was terrible.

Bell’hotel leggermente fuori da Salisbury ma con bellissima vista sulla cattedrale. La camera era molto ampia, pulita e confortevole. La colazione molto curata e abbondante. Lo staff è stato gentile.

This was our second stay at the Riverside and, once again, we found it a comfortable and convenient place when meeting friends in the area. The building is attractive and the gardens leading down to the river meadows are attractive. We were upgraded to a river room on the top floor with a stunning view of the Cathedral. There is plenty of parking and the location means you can drive to the hotel without dealing with the major roads which go through the city. The hotel does not serve dinner but it is a pleasant walk into the centre through the Cathedral close. Breakfast was good quality with plenty of choice and a very nice pot of tea (which is surprisingly difficult to find in UK hotels). Best of all, though, are the friendly, efficient and smiling staff - everyone we encountered was an asset to the hotel.

Nothing of significance but I thought our room was rather small considering it was an upgrade - on the previous occasion we stayed the room was much larger. The bathroom was rather gloomy, with only a small skylight. Although refreshments and toiletries are provided and the quality of these was fine, they seemed a little ungenerous - only one bottle of ‘hair and body wash’ for the shower (ie no separate shampoo or conditioner).
