The positives were: location, uniqueness of the brownstone. Negatives were ALL related to staff. If you want to be treated with disrespect this is the place for you! The morning staff was grumpy and downright mean. For example: The manager scolded our 80 year old uncle because he was taking too much time at the breakfast counter. The manager called him out because there were 4 other people standing in line behind him. What the manager didn't know these 4 people were all his great nieces and nephews and were trying to assist him. The manager embarrassed our 80 year old uncle and lost all respect from the 4 family members standing in line. The rest of us who witnessed the whole confrontation were shocked an employee could be so insensitive and mean. There are more rules at this property than at a Kindergarten. Heaven forbid you need to use the Iron- management will walk you thru those rules like you are 5 years old. Better watch out you don't stain the towels with hair dye (why anyone would want to dye their hair at a hotel is beyond me) because that is a $200.00 fine, Don't open the front door for your OWN family member or you will get scolded- they need to use their key to get in even if you are standing right next to the door looking at them thru the window. You can't use the lobby sitting area from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. so if you want to go back to the guest house and sit with family ( to have a quiet conversation) you are not allowed! I could provide a list of all their rules but I don't have enough time. My message to the Manager and this; You have chosen to be in the hospitality business if you can't be remotely kind and welcoming maybe it is time to find another line of work!! and SHAME on you for being mean to an old person!!!

Fantastic location, very clean and comfortable. The value here is great, I chose to upgrade to a private bathroom on arrival but please don’t be put off by the shared bathroom it’s between very few people and was spotless when I popped my head in. Very friendly staff and a free breakfast which is more than I expected

Great location, rooms are clean, simple but well appointed. Good to have the fridge in common area. Overall few downsides versus a more expensive full service hotel.

Really very little. If I were staying with my husband, I’d want a queen or king bed rather than full (those might be available in a different room, not sure). I guess the only thing I’d change is the towels were a little old and not as fluffy and absorbent as I might have wished.

Great location!! Loved the charm of this sweet bed and breakfast would highly recommend
