Toberua Island Resort

Toberau Island was the real Fiji experience with such friendly staff. Location was perfect. We were looked after like family, nothing was too hard for them.

The island setting and small number of guests was excellent. Service was great and very polite. Music at meal times was wonderful.

Food was expensive for the quality and quantity of lunch and dinner. Our room was noisy and we moved rooms. No hot water and the power point in the bathroom was held in by sticky tape which didn't work so was dangerous. Needed to be an experienced snorkeler to feel safe on the reef.

Es un sitio paradisíaco. Las habitaciones son tal y como aparecen en las fotos. La comida es deliciosa y el personal del hotel muy especial . Me gustó mucho el detalle que te reciben todos en el puerto cuando llegas. Zack muy atento. La musca en vivo todas las noches también es un muy buen detalle. Tienen actividades para desarrollar en el día. Es un sitio espectacular para quienes deseen descansar

Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming and trying to make me feel at home (especially Joanna). Loved the live music at the bar and at dinner time. The Fijan buffet on Saturday and the staff choir on Sundays was amazing. Also.loved the basket waving and crab race. The guys at the bar were super nice and the cocktails yummy. Pool was clean and well-maintained. Loved, loved, loved Jack the shining parrot.

1. Not sure if the chef was on holiday, but the food was really bad. Being a vegetarian I only got one option for dinner. After talking it over with staff it got only slightly better. The price for dinner especially was outrageous for what you got. The cheese and fruit platter was especially disappointing. 2. Cleaning was very superficial, sheets were only changed on my request after 4 days, had cockroaches inside and outside the bure. No mosquito net but brought my own. 3. Notice that as a solo traveller they might charge you double for trips (pretty much every activity is paid) if you're the only one going -thus I didn't do any of the excursions as paying for transport/room on my own plus overpriced food set a limit to my budget. 4. Some of the staff made me feel very unwelcome. I know the owners were away when I was there so maybe it's better o the island if they are there and have control over things.
