The Westin Kierland Villas, Scottsdale

Coming to Westin Villas is like coming home. As an owner we always receive the very best rooms in building 2,3,4 and 5. This last trip we had a room in building 5 overlooking the golf course. Not much of a view on the second floor but it's always fun watching the golfers sink their balls in the water. The Villas has everything you would need to cook for the entire week. We did however request an additional comforter for the pullout couch, which arrived shortly. The rooms recently received a makeover which improved Kierland even more. Yes to Internet TV. However I did find that the Internet was slower. Maybe this is due to all the off the users watching Netflix. Something I need to raise with the board. However I was still able to work. The staff at the Westin are incredible. I love seeing the same bar staff every year. Kevin is the best salesman at the Marriott sales office. He is the guy to talk to if you want purchase, trade or exchange your Marriott timeshare. However a huge shoutout to the maintenance grew for keeping the BBQs clean. Here are my tips and tricks regarding Kierland as an owner and frequent visitor: 1) Request a fire in the evening during the cold seasons. Ask the maintenance grew for firewood 2) Pool and hot tube is open 24 hours.. Hot tube is the best hotel ever 3) Use the gym and steam room. OMG!! 4) Daily happy hours. The best!! 5) Amazing BBQs, recommend BBQing in the evening. Get food from Safeway's a few blocks away. Get meat from Rusty Nails Butcher!! Omg their steaks are incredible. 6) Kurag coffee machines. Bring your pods. Kierland has coffee to purchase. Great onsite food. 7) Westin resort has a nice new bar! Wow what an improvement 8) Visit Kevin at the sales gallery. He is not pushy. Super knowledgeable and won't lie to you to sell you something 9) Must visit Westin resort. Pools are incredible. 10) Wow never knew pickleball was so much fun. Lots of pickleball courts at Westin. Can't say enough about the Westin Villas. Already booked for next year!! Westin Villas have created many memories and was my getaway during Covid. A must stay!!! Additional item: Omg I left one shopping bag behind in the room which had a lot of new cloths that I purchased at Kierland Commons. Housekeeping had found the bag and stored it for safekeeping. Once I noticed the missing items I called Kierland. They had located the items and shipped everything back to me!! Wow..

Loved the property. Only thing is that it closes at 5 pm for dinner. Pool closes early for kids too. After 5 it’s slim pickings here. Also my room had no window in the living room. Only window was in the bedroom.

My wife and I have stayed at the Villas 4 years ago, we stayed in the same building this time. The staff are absolutely wonderful enjoyed most all our interactions . The exception was when we asked to have the sewer smell investigated on Sunday after arriving Saturday. We got no answer and the smell continued. We again asked if it was looked at and were told they would check…nothing. Tuesday we were talking with an off duty employee (could have been front desk staff) on the lower level and she said it happens but could do some digging. Still no one responded to our issue. Wednesday we thought the smell was less and it possibly got resolved only to wake up Thursday to strong sewerage smell (gaging). We went to the front desk and asked what they found and were told they would check with management and let us know. We heard nothing. Friday morning was enough, a villa that is 900.00 villa and still smell of sewage smell not investigated so we demanded to see the manager. Explaining we would like it corrected. She did call us throughout the day Friday with updates but at the end of the day it still smells. They offered a room change saying “if you want to go through that for one more night”. We stayed in the room that they put a bottle of wine and card. We received 250 removed off our bill. I really just wanted management to understand what happened. We should have been moved Sunday for the cost of that villa Tried to leave on their website but I must be challenged because I couldn’t.

We stayed at the Villas through Expedia, we were there with a large group, everyone in the group that booked thru the hotel were in their rooms by noon. We were told "soon" after arriving at the property at 11 am, we waited in the lobby thinking soon meant an hour or so. We did not get in until 4 pm, I truly think this was a function of not booking thru hotel. Units are out dated, did not like the bathroom, it has a deep soaking tub and no separate shower so it is not very safe getting over that tub into shower and out with out slipping. Everything; bar and store close up really early and it's too far to anything else to get a later evening drink or snack. Shuttle and Bellhops were AWESOME.

We were attending a conference What a beautiful property Room had great views and large TV Comfortable beds and service was excellent My husband was sick they brought complementary Ginger ale to room . Pool and lazy river was wonderful In lobby there was dessert cart had the best chocolate chip cookies we took some home actually It was Halloween and decorated for the season We highly recommended this great Marriott property

Resort is well designed (except the rooms), clean and close to restaurants, shopping and golf. Nice amenities such as pools and pickleball, but none were being used that we saw…probably because November in Arizona is COLD. Low rating is because of the room. Two unit types available. If staying in the smaller one, you may as well be in a cave. Living and kitchen area have NO windows. Only window is in bedroom, but our ground floor room had a fully enclosed dark patio. Probably great in the summer heat…unusable, damp and dark this time of year. No natural light or view in the room whatsoever. I asked at check in and the next day to change rooms (something I typically will never do once I’m settled into a room), but they were unable to find any other options (questionable?). We made the best of our time, but I would never return to the particular property.

Easy walkable access to all activities. Great dining. Friendly staff. Gym equipment needed repair. Balcony overlooks a loading/trash dock that was a bit noisy.

We are multiple vacation owners and have traveled to Westin Kierland Villas many times. It continues to not disappoint! It all begins at the Front Drive where we experience warm greetings and smiles from the bellmen - Troy, Mark, and Rob. From there we experience a friendly and efficient check-in by Gracie, Jovana, and others. Our villa was great, as usual, and the grounds continue to be beautiful and well-maintained. Housekeeping was thorough, prompt, and efficient. If we had a maintenance issue, the service was prompt and thorough, notably JR and Brule. The kitchen is small, but its staff delivers a diverse menu, which we consider some of the best in the Westin Villas. Sidni always has a smile in the market! One of the best aspects of our stay is the people, who serve and make us feel special. The bar/restaurant staff are friendly, fun, and efficient. Noteworthy are Devon, Sean, Dani, and others. In the desert, water is gold; and the people (Alison, Michael, Tucker, and Adam), who work the pool deck and provide us with water and other services that make us comfortable are highly valued. We truly appreciate all the people who make us feel special and their positive attitudes - We look forward to our next return stay at the Westin Kierland Villas!

We haven’t been back to this timeshare we have for a couple of years now. When we booked we were hoping for cooler temperatures, but that’s not up to us! It was hotter than usual, but we had a nice time staying in or traveling to different restaurants in the area. A wonderful resort and very pretty. The one complaint I had was when I asked for General Information to my VISTANA timeshare using Westin, my husband won’t even come to those meetings any more. Paula Marie did do her job at trying to get me to upgrade for more time and pay more, which I told her I wasn’t interested, but she was rude and condescending. She said I could sign up for an extra week or whatever without “Mr. Wonderful,” WOW what an insult!!! Then she said I wouldn’t be able to book a villa because of my availability is 8 months, I need that “magic option number.” WELL I CAN and have been doing this for 23 years through all the changes through Sheraton, Vistana and Marriott. If I ever decide to add more weeks to our timeshare it won’t be at Westin Villas Scottsdale. This is not the first time this has happened here, too many times, every salesperson I have ever interacted with have been rude!
