Has EVERYTHING needed and everything works really well such as AMAZING breakfast, bathrooms, onsen, hairdryer, dry room, fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, room heater, shuttle service, luggage storage… everything possible

Location is not as convenient for restaurants down the “city center”, steep hill to go back

Location was good. Hot breakfast changing every day was appreciated.

The room we were given had windows over the ground level parking and non-closing curtains. Impossible to change in peace or feel a tremor of intimacy as there were people smoking on the parking and hanging out, right by our bed. The door was a DIY door, very thin, leading to the shared bathrooms. The room was not sound proofed and we were woken up all night by people passing by. The facilities are relatively clean, but old and not maintained. The food is made by staff in the kitchen regardless of health rules - some of them were sitting on the countertops, handling electronic devices while making food, with open windows for all guests to see how the food was made.

Loved everything about it!! Thank you so much for the great stay and the generous shuttle services ☺️💙 If you could add some curtains or shutters for the window, it would be helpful not to wake up too early in the morning once the sun goes up..

The overwhelming advantage with Asuka Lodge is its location, which is literally right across the street from a chair lift and skiing at Happo One. The upstairs room I was at first allocated actually had a window that overlooked the chair lift and slopes, which was great. The reason I booked a flight to Japan, somewhat at the last minute, was that the Hakuba ski areas were having their best snow season ever, and I wasn’t disappointed. Of the seven nights I stayed, I think five nights it snowed. Also, I was alone, having travelled to Japan, and the Hakuba ski area with my family in December of 2024 and 2023, and breakfasts are served on long tables that facilitated discussions with other guests. The lodge is very informal and the staff (mostly expats) are laid back.

In my haste to book an available room, I didn’t read all of the description about the hotel, including that it doesn’t have in-room bathrooms. Each floor has a mens’ and womens’ toilets, but there’s only one shower for all three floors. I thought that this would be very inconvenient, but I soon learned the best time (about 9pm) to shower and it was less hassle than I imagined.
