Melville Castle

A wonderful castle stay on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Pleasant grounds to wander around. Food was a real treat with an excellent chefs and wait staff. Our junior suite was a great space.

Great stay. Strong and hot water pressure in shower. Each day the cleaning staff arranged the towels on bed in different romantic shapes. Like two swans facing each other to make a big heart.

Morning receptionist seemed a little grumpy and was not that polite

A wonderful historic castle, a bit quirky and crumbly but added to the charm.

Absolutely stunning setting, perhaps not utilising the outdoor areas enough, maybe more ground staff needed for tidying up and weeding as some areas looking a bit scruffy so the views whilst in the building and strolling around the grounds it should be looking it's best.

Would of preferred a solid wall instead of a extension add on room but it was nice and roomy Probably too far from Edinburgh had to get a few taxis

Os quartos do 2° piso (201 e 202) têm o duche tão baixo que é preciso estarmos curvos para conseguirmos tomar banho. Ajuda a ter um banco.

The grounds on the side & in the back were nicely kept. Made looking outside pleasant enough. Downer: The gravel parking lot, right in front, was a bit off-putting. It takes away from the "I'm staying in a CASTLE!" Intrigue.

Comment above about parking. It would be so much more inviting & interesting to have lovely landscaped grounds. Maybe even a fountain. It just felt like something was missing.
