Portofino Island Resort

The Portofino Resort is the perfect getaway on Pensacola Beach. The lifestyle center is an entire oasis. Especially out back at the pool and Coastal Bar area. The staff was friendly and very helpful and my wife and I will definitely be returning soon.

We had to switch rooms due to the condition of the unit— it was discussing - only to find that the new room wasn’t any better. To make matters worse the refrigerator wouldn’t freeze or cool. We called maintenance and the brought a loaner fridge but it wouldn’t freeze or cool either. I spent all of my time packing with cooler with ice to keep our food from spoiling. Keep away from tower 4 unit 606. It’s extremely uncomfortable.

The property is in an amazing location. Away from the busy Pensacola main area, but close enough (5 mins drive) to go along if you wanted to go to restaurants or the pier etc. The property was clean. And the gardens beautiful and well kept. All the staff we encountered were friendly, polite and helpful. There were plenty of elevators and they were super fast and clean. There are several pools all around the complex. We didn’t use them as we love the beach but they were all spotless and never over crowded. You can use any of the pools in the complex. Not just your towers pool. There is also an indoor heated pool. We did not use any of the eating facilities (to save money we ate in our condo) but people that we talked to loved it and we kept seeing people with pizza boxes from the restaurant ALL the time. The location is stunning no matter what tower you are in. We were in tower 4 and initially I was disappointed as I wanted to be on the gulf side. But from our HUGE balcony - we could see the Santa Rosa Sound AND the gulf as well as the most stunning sunrises. Our condo was clean, for once in many vacations the king size bed in the master was really comfortable. We slept! We were in Tower 4 and our condo was 1303. The Kitchen great and the fridge cleaned immaculately. The beach is just stunning. The water was crystal clear and not that crowded given we got there the day after JULY 4th. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a wonderful and relaxing vacation. With everything you need in one resort.

What was disappointing was the sofa bed. It sunk to sit on and the bed when you pulled it out it was missing shaped and the mattress so thin. It could not be slept on. Lucky for us we found an inflatable mattress in the closet which was electric inflate and deflate. This was perfect for our 4 year old. So we didn’t need the sofa bed. If we had another adult with us. We would have had to complain about the sofa bed as it was not suitable to sleep on. The next things are really minor and things that can be super easily fixed! The knives were blunt. Next time - I am taking a sharpener as there wasn’t one in the condo. There was also no spatula - and with a grill, we needed one! Went to buy one and Walmart did not have any. We improvised with knife. The patio furniture was also extremely tired and the chairs rusty. It was fantastic having a grill outside - we cooked burgers and sausages that was a first for us in a condo (without using the public one) The built in grill was useable. It was electric. Did the job. But it was old and had to be unplugged every time.

Our condo was superb, great views, balcony, nicely furnished, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, great places to eat, wonderful swimming pools and staff. They made our stay there great. It was away from the fray of the drama of the tackiness of beach towns. The beach was not crowded near there and was very beautiful. We really enjoyed our three nights there.
