I have stayed in many good quality hotels over the years. I've been spoiled all week with the fabulous food cooked by Nuno. It really doesn't compare to anywhere else. The gluten free food served every evening is of a very high standard. It's the only time I've been on holiday and never been sick! It's a very safe place to eat. The staff in the restaurant are also very friendly and helpful. Thanks to all.

We chose the Quinta because we both needed a relaxing break after a full-on few months. The photo of the deluxe room we booked looked inviting, but the suite was actually enormous, elegant and had everything we could have needed and more. On a half-board basis, our evening meals were split between the formal terrace of the manor house and the more informal white house terrace; every single one was delicious and surprising, and all taken outside. Breakfast in the garden was superb....and the walk into Funchal meant that we didn't put on weight, although we cheated with a cheap taxi ride back on a couple of hotter days. All in all, just perfect.

Hotel garden is spectacular, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and look out on the amazing garden. Lovely and quiet location. Wonderful staff, great food, a very special place to stay.

We have stayed here several times and always look forward to coming back. The garden and property are simply beautiful, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The food is excellent and truly exceptional – dietary needs such as lactose or gluten intolerance are taken into account without compromising on taste. The service is outstanding: very friendly, warm, and attentive, with staff remembering all our preferences. Every stay here is a wonderful experience.

Despite constant reminders and constant confirmations, they forgot to deliver birthday cake which could have made my partners birthday really special. No apologies or alternate arrangements offered.

Die Einbettung der Anlage in eine wunderschöne, gepflegte Parklandschaft

Das von uns gebuchte Doppelzimmer mit Gartenblick wurde mit einer Größe von 37m² angepriesen. Aufgrund dieses vermeintlich großzügigen Zimmerausmaßes hatten wir uns zur Buchung entschlossen und fanden die € 400,00/Nacht als angemessen. Die Überraschung und Enttäuschung offenbarte sich jedoch, als wir das Zimmer betraten. Von den angepriesenen 37m² war nichts zu sehen und zu spüren! Der Wohn- und Schlafbereich hatte samt Zugangskorridor, in dem die Kleiderschränke verbaut waren, knapp 22m²!! Das Badezimmer, in dem sich auch das WC und ein Bidet befand (nicht abgetrennt) war mit einer Dusch-Badewanne und einem Einzelwaschtisch ausgestattet und hatte insgesamt knapp 8m² - alles sehr small aber bei Leibe nicht luxery!! Unsere Reklamation an der Rezeption hinsichtlich der nicht der Anpreisung entsprechenen Zimmergröße wurde damit abgeschmettert, dass nach Auslegung des Hotels zur Zimmergröße auch die Flächen des Badezimmers samt WC sowie die außen liegende Terrasse (rd. 7,5m²) mit einzubeziehen ist!! Das war für mich völlig unverständlich und widerspricht eindeutig den branchenüblichen Gepflogenheiten. Ich/Wir fühlten uns geneppt und über den Tisch gezogen! Völlig unverständlich ist auch, dass booking.com derartige Angaben ihrer Partnerhotels ungeprüft übernimmt! Ich habe mittlerweile bereits zweimal auch bei booking. com reklamiert, ohne jedoch bis dato eine Rückmeldung in irgend einer Form zu erhalten! Das versteht man leider in der heutigen Zeit als "Kundenservice"!
