"Rude staff, poor quality for the price"

2.0

Bed was comfy. Night staff were polite morning staff were absolutely horrible

The fact is was refused money back for a breakfast i did not eat, got into an argument with morning staff, got given a room i did not order and pretty much got told to get over it. I sent a lengthy email to management its all in there. Room smelt musky and cobwebs all over the ceiling. Definitely not worth the money. Apparently there was room service but no menu or no explanation as to how to use the phone. Brought maccas throughout the night.

"Tired, overpriced, poorly maintained, and service fell short of expectations."

4.0

Location is great

We stayed at The Henry Jones Art Hotel expecting a premium experience given its reputation, however it feels well past its prime. While the building has character, the overall condition comes across as tired and dated rather than charming. Our room was particularly disappointing, dark, inward-facing onto an atrium, with no ability to properly open windows, which made it feel quite closed in. The exposed timber ceilings could be a great feature, but unfortunately they were covered in visible dust, as were parts of the bathroom ceiling and vent, all clearly visible from the room. This gave the space an unclean and neglected feel. We raised this at checkout and were told the minibar water would be waived as compensation. However, shortly after leaving, the charge was applied to our card anyway, which left a poor impression. Overall, it felt like a case of getting guests out the door and dealing with things afterwards. For a hotel at this price point, it simply does not live up to expectations.

"A great hotel with a perfect location"

10.0

We stayed at The Henry Jones Art Hotel in mid-March 2026 and absolutely loved the experience, from the service and atmosphere to its unbeatable location. Stepping outside the hotel, you’re right at Constitution Dock, with many of Hobart’s key attractions just a short walk away. We used the hotel’s valet service for parking our rental car which cost $35 per day. However, there is plenty of timed car parking bays in the immediate area of the hotel. Housed in Hobart’s oldest waterfront warehouses, the hotel has been reimagined into Australia’s first dedicated art hotel. The hotel has over 400 original and contemporary artworks on display, showcasing both emerging and established Tasmanian artists throughout the rooms and shared spaces. It’s a unique and sophisticated place to stay, offering a truly immersive experience on Hobart’s waterfront. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something a little different.
