Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Carson City by IHG

We stay here every year when we go to the Polar Express train and visit Santa at the North Pole. This facility has an indoor pool and breakfast which we love.

This year the facility was more run down than usual. The pool water was cloudy. The breakfast buffet had run out of some of our favorite items. Furthermore, the wall paper in our bathroom was peeling off, the grout in the bathroom tile was old and tired and needed to be maintained. The water in the lobby had a small handle that would fall off in the middle of trying to get a cup of water. The staff seemed to know how to Jerry rig it to make it work again, but the facility had many differed maintenance issues.

Lots of places and grocery store near by. Easy to find.

The staff was extraordinary. I've stayed at the Four Seasons and they were equivalent in attentiveness and making me feel special. Linens were perfect, room was spacious, view was lovely! Coffee was preydarn good, breakfast was cozy. Lobby was very nice

The fitness room was fine but minimal and one machine never worked despite assurances it would be reset

Small TV, maybe 20-30 inch with maybe 10 channels. Hard to access these random channels. Remote had Netflix and Amazon on it but went nowhere. Very frustrating this day and age. Tiny pool and towels. Wallpaper coming off in bathroom. Ice maker on 2nd floor was out of order

The location.

The room was clean. But it needed some love. The shade was very dirty and missing the top part that hides the rollers. The light bulb was burnt out, the blow dryer didn't work. The tub was stained and hard water build up on shower head and the ice machines in the hallways.
