The Residence at Vila Porto Mare

It was excellent. The location, staff friendliness and efficiency was of the higher order. The buffet breakfast and dinner was fantastic the like of which we have not seen before.

Everything was great but in our room was very loud at night. We prefer to go to sleep not late to wake up before sunrise. It was impossible to sleep before midnight. I believe there should be a choice of rooms in terms of noise level preferably at arrival. Otherwise it was great.

This is our third stay at Porto Mare, and its just as good as we remember. Spacious and clean rooms, lovely breakfast buffet, great facilities for adults and kids. Our two year old especially loves the pools and playground.

We like the pools, breakfast and the buffet diner with folklore performance. Easy access to Funchal by public bus.The apartment was spacious and had big balcony. There was nothing which we didn't like. Excellent place to stay.

Stunning interior with magnificent gardens and pool area. Staff all very professional and friendly. Great choice for breakfast and change of theme if you want to eat in the evening. Happy hour a bonus and entertainment in the bar was really good. Great location - a gentle walk (no hills) into town in about 30/40 minutes plus bus stop located just outside the main entrance with regular service.

A lovely complex of 3 hotels, kept to a high standard and serviced by friendly helpful staff.

The staff were exceptional and made our 55th wedding anniversary with their kindness putting not one but two bottles of champagne in our room together with chocolates and flowers.

Lovely hotel, stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for a family of 3 and the room size was excellent. The food in the hotel was excellent and the pools were great with loads of space.

Enjoyed it so much that are already thinking about returning
