Highland Lodge

The location was super and easy to reach by train from Bergen. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and warm. We had a great view from our balcony. The lovely pool area and changing rooms were spotlessly clean and modern. We had good pizzas from the pizzeria.

If you don’t have a family room with a kitchenette the options for breakfast were limited (Starbucks or the local supermarket whichis 5 minutes away). There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room (which are often included in 4* accommodation).

At personalet ikkje kunne norsk. Ved enkle spørsmål t perdonrn i resepsjonen, blei eg bedt om a uttrykkja meg på engelsk. ! Å ikkje bli forstått på mitt eige språk i mitt eige land,er rett og slett ei skam! Ikkje ein seriøs servicebedrift verdig!! Her må de ta grep.

To be honest, we weren’t expecting much from this hotel as the photos didn’t do it justice when we booked, but we couldn’t find rooms elsewhere 😬But we were delighted when we opened the door. In fact, from entering the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. The self check in was easy, the bakery a bonus, and the room was so much more than we thought we’d get. Annoyingly we didn’t know we had any cooking facilities in our family room - not sure whose fault that is - maybe Heidi, who we booked through - maybe the hotel’s own photos and descriptions. But there was a hob, dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine and more. We didn’t have to survive on pot noodles and cup a soup with the travel kettles we took! The only negatives were no maid service, but we just asked for more towels at the bakery downstairs. We took our own garbage out and swept around the floors, so no big deal. WiFi wasn’t great at times. My phone didn’t connect and I killed my data! The pizza was quite expensive and not very filling. (We ordered takeaway from the restaurant and ate in our room) - but we were quite close to two Ski Bus stops and very close to two supermarkets. Shame we didn’t know about the swimming pool, or I’d have taken my swimming costume! The balcony was a great addition. We were in Geilo for a ski holiday, and weren’t disappointed. Would definitely consider returning.

Amazing location. Swimming pool and sauna was beautiful and so amazing after a day on the slopes. Room was clean and bed was super comfortable. Easy check in and check out

Our toilet was leaking and made the bathroom smell horrible. As there are limited staff around we didn't know who to tell
