"Won’t be back due to quality of beds."

Rooms and facilities were decent .

"Not well planned double room layout"

The location is great. The chair was appreciated. The decor was pleasing.

The bed was not great. A foam topper would make a difference. The sheets were quite worn. A box of tissue would have been nice.

"Pet Facility"

It’s for the dogs, really. If you’re a dog owner and want your dog with you, this is the place for you. Personally, we don’t appreciate other peoples dogs hair on our items. We don’t have a dog and one of us is allergic to dogs. The fire pits and jacuzzi pictures must enhanced. The fire pit is cool but we want relax with your pet. One of the four benches is completely broken. The jacuzzi holds four people, six at the most. The bed and pillows are horrible. You can feel the bed springs and the pillows must be made of foam pieces. The microwave didn’t work and the office still wasn’t open at 9:10am….so we just left it at that. We did let them know upon return that evening and they offered to exchange it. It was already 830pm and pointless as we were leaving the next morning. Parking is free. However much of the driving lane at the Inn is blocked most of the time as people either can’t park or it’s set up poorly. The shower was clean. It’s a one and done for us.

"While the room was clean and the location was perfect, BEWARE of a surprise surcharge fee!"

The location was good. It is within walking distance to the beach and close to my son’s apartment. Overall, the room was clean.

The price listed on booking.com was different than what I was asked to pay. The motel assessed what they called a “surcharge fee” which was actually a credit card processing fee. This appears to be contrary to the CA Senate Bill 478 that was passed in July of 2024. This bill is also known as the Honest Pricing Law. It prohibits motels from doing things like this. I called the office and left a voice message respectfully requesting that they reverse this charge. A representative returned my call. He was very combative. He claimed that since this fee was disclosed on their website (something you don’t go to when you book with booking.com ) and that they had signs up disclosing this fee as well, (also not made available to me prior to my visit) that they could add this charge. At that point it was obvious that my business didn’t matter. He suggested I provide him with my debit card information and the fee would be waived . At that point, any trust I had for this establishment became nonexistent. There was no way I was going to provide him with a card linked to my bank account . As a corporate CPA, familiar with compliance, I firmly believe this motel is trying to skirt the law by hiding credit card processing fees under a generic charge of “surcharge fee”. This is a type of “drip pricing”. Since the clientele that frequents this location is oftentimes seniors (myself included), I hope my experience will resonate with people just wanting to be treated fairly.
