Monterey Peninsula Inn

The positives were: TV reception was great Hot water Lots of pillows and blankets provided CONS: Hot stuffy room. They have a thermostat in the room but you can’t actually adjust the temp. We had it off and you oils see the pilot light on a feel the warmth coming out. The provide a dusty floor fan that we had to place up in the window to try and pull in some cool air. To add to it the sheets are not breathable so you are sticky just under a sheet. They have too many bulky pieces of furniture that it makes the room feel smaller. Bed is extra firm and the bath towels left fuzz all over you after you shower. So if you run cold and like a harder bed you’ll love this place.

Be wary of the cancellation policy at this hotel. I had a two night reservation for two people. The room has only one chair. I had to sit on the bed.. Even while sitting, the bed is extremely uncomfortable (Too hard). Upon laying on the bed, I determined that it was too firm and that it would have been impossible for me to sleep on the bed. After being in the room for less than two hours, I went back to the office and informed the desk clerk that we were leaving that afternoon and checking out early. I inquired about a refund. The clerk informed me that the hotel policy is that you forfeit the entire amount of you reserved stay as a penalty when you check out early. I lost both the first night's fee plus the second night even when we did not occupy the room. I lost $414 for being at the hotel for two hours. I am just glad that I had not booked a whole weeks stay.

Coming here for 30 years We have always enjoyed our stay here. We stayed with Monterey Peninsula Inn after the separation from Sea Breeze. The jacuzzi and front office were the deciding factor. This trip was enhanced by Aaron at the front desk. He is tops at hospitality. His dog Jean, the Corgi, was a bonus. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful beach hotel with great location. This is our go to hotel when we visit pacific grove.

The area was nice and quiet, with lots of space to park. It was walking distance from the ocean and the staff was very welcoming and helpful.

We love this area. I always feel ripped off when being charged a dog fee. I understand that people have probably "ruined it for the rest of us" but they take a cc for incidental so they should just charge if your pet makes a mess. There appeared to be some black mold in the bathroom. The rooms are decent but dated. I only come to these locations at kff season, i can imagine paying more than i did. I would definitely be dissatisfied. The bed was ok but i couldn't sleel bc it got too hot in the room. A ceiling fan would be nice.

The location was perfect since my husband and I were there for a golf trip. It's very close to the golf course and 17 mile drive. The bed was comfortable, and the front staff was welcoming and friendly. She allowed us to check in early. The room had a nice refrigerator that was actually cold and decent wifi.

The room was smaller than I expected and a bit stuffy. The bathtub area is dated with rust on the corner of the tub and cracked tiles on the outside corner.

The location was great and the staff was very helpful and attentive. There wasn't any noise from neighbors. The bed was quite comfortable. There were 2 chairs in the room which was very nice so that we could sit somewhere other than the bed.

The room was quite tight. We did turn off the refrigerator at night because my husband is a light sleeper and the compressor cycling on and off disturbs his rest.

Average rooms, poor internet. Worst ever Front desk person/owner/Manager I have ever encountered. Very rude person . I had an issue with early departure and Roy slammed the phone on Expedia person. I will recommend travelers to avoid this hotel as there are better choices with Friendly staff available in this town.
