Excellent hotel great location in a great town, portuguese food is fantastic, we did b b and it was very good lots of options and great service. Park at the car park next to the garage its free! Plenty of really good cafes and restaurants. Close to the ferry for the beach

lovely hotel in good location near town and river. Rooms clean but very dark due to absence of central light. Balcony provided roost for 6 pigeons and wasn't cleaned all week. Food choices is good from hotel buffet and staff are all welcoming and friendly.

Great location in the centre of town. Very easy to walk everywhere. Good breakfasts. I did not. Use the pool but did sit on the deck.

Very good location, flat walk to all restaurants and bars. Rooms and bathrooms need an update. Over bath shower would be difficult if had mobility problems. Toilet tissue is poor quality. The hair dryer attached to the wall.All areas are very clean, but still a lot of pigeons around the pool area will probably be worse in summer. Bar lacks atmosphere and seat's not comfortable. Bedding would have preferred duvet, not old orange blankets. Breakfast good choice.

Breakfast which was included was particularly wonderful. Very large number of fresh choices.

Lovely atmosphere, it was Xmas and they had really tried hard to decorate the foyer with a big tree.and nativity scene nd tasteful table decorations in the dining room. I found the staff all really helpful, definitely ask for a kettle, it's actually a tea tray with tea and coffee which gets replenished. I thought I had a problem wirh the lock on my door and they sent the handyman up to check it and spray with wd 40..actually I've since realised I was turning it the wrong g way. It's currently very quiet here..a few more Xmas couples and families booked in.. idk.wjst it would feel.in the height of summr theres mot mych outdoo space..hust the pool area , its definitely a more adult hotel although apparently there's a kids club. The 'spa' is just a jacuzzi and small pool and gym..check the winter opening times..10 to 7. It's not sensational..but its better than nothing, it has a steam room too..but the changing rooms are real cold. The bedrooms are lovely,my balcony and view was great, overlooking the salt reserves and the monastery/flour factory ..but yeh .maybe but so great if you are overlooking the petrol station...Still.an opportunity for people watching . No problem with pigeons on balconies..as all previous reviews said..saw a few around the pool 1 day..but the hotel us next to a national park where people come birdwatching,so not surprised to see a few stray birds. Xmas eve, the hotel do.a buffet for 50 euros. It was a great experience,the food was perfect , wine was included and the staff dressed up in festive spirits and costumes and made sure our drinks were topped up. I have felt very safe and looked after here and would definitely recommend villa gale at tavira, especially for any other solo female travellers. My only negative is .. The beds are extremely comfortable ,lovely linen...but I couldn't work out what the crinkle noise was or why I was so hot. So,the mattress protectors are rubber backed,I guess to protect from any liquid spills.(!).but it does feel a bit like sleeping on a hospital bed ( plastic mattress). I'm.all for a compromise for hygiene, especially with bed bugs etc..and the linen and bedding is immaculate , the housekeeping staff work.all day long anti saw the rooms being inspected by the hotel manager. .

This is a really Good Hotel in Tavira. Clean interior design inspired by the Moorish heritage. Located close to the market and 5 min walk to center and the ferry to the beach island. The staff is very friendly and service minded and the restaurant offers excellent food. The spa area is lovely with a nice indoor pool and jacuzzi. You can also book treatments. The outdoor pool is not heated but lovely in summertime. This hotel is very spacious so even if there are big groups of guests, you never experience a crowded feeling. Good 4* hotel. Located just a short walk to the town centre. Room was good and well equipped. Breakfast was buffet style and excellent. We only had dinner one night and again buffet style. The bar is good. Did not get a chance to use the pool because of the weather. Overall service was excellent.

very nice hotel in a great location in Tavira,we got an early check in ,very much appreciated,room was good size with a balcony overlooking the pool,great breakfast every morning,hotel was busy for november but the bar was quiet each night.staff were lovely,all very friendly,will use again next time in Tavira.
