Vila Gale Tavira Resort Hotel

Great hotel for a short break Room had everything we needed, very comfortable,and had tea and coffee making facilities and a safe. Good breakfast, plenty of choice and a lovely lady who would make eggs as you liked them quickly. (Gets busy for breakfast between 8.30 and 9.30, so choose your times. ) Outdoor pool had plenty of beds and towels available from the spa if you need them, spa offers various treatments and massages, other half had massage, he enjoyed it, came back and fell asleep before dinner! Staff all lovely and very helpful , would definitely come back. Short walk to river for the ferry to the beaches on Tavira island, if you’re not eating in the hotel, plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, all reasonably priced for food and drinks.

This property has a great location. Lots of restaurants close by and very walkable city. Breakfast at the hotel was perfect with lots of choices. Parking was easy also at the hotel. Pool area was very nice. I would recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel Staff are very friendly Rooms clean and spacious Pool area is lovely and very clean We enjoyed breakfast very busy but always something g fresh to eat Just 5 minutes walk to the river and town which has a great choice of restaurants

Noisy from the road and areas of room needed sorting paint peeling from walls and cracked grouting in the bathroom causing tiles to be sharp to walk on. I addressed the issues but nothing was done and it seemed that this was matter of fact

Clean and spacious

Property was so/so, staff was amazing, particularly in the dining room. The dinner buffet was amazing.

10 mins walk to numerous restaurants on river front and town centre. Perfect location for half board. Hotel breakfast buffet excellent and evening buffet good but wouldn't want to eat there every night

Really good and the pool and spa were great. We ate out after breakfast, which Red Rum couldn’t clear! If it rains, you can stay in, enjoy the free wi-fi and the food and drinks are reasonably priced too. You are within walking distance of the restaurants on the riverbank, and the old town.

Excellent location to explore tavira but also a little removed from the hub bub of the town. Excellent breakfast. Spacious foyer. Architecturally interesting.

Upsides: The hotel is spotlessly clean, and staff friendly and extremely helpful. Outdoor swimming pool very well-maintained. Bar and restaurant prices are very reasonable for a hotel of this class. Very good breakfast. Location is excellent, with the Municipal Market, Tavira Island ferry point, salt pans (twitchers' delight!), restaurants, bars, churches (many of them!), the castle, museum etc etc, all within easy walking distance. Downsides: Mind-numbing "Muzak" pervades the public areas, crinkly waterproof bed under-sheets take some getting used to, toilet paper appears to be the cheapest available, hundreds of pigeons..., and onsite parking costs EUR10 per day (it's free just a few yards away next to the Repsol petrol station, or just the other side of the bridge, or behind the market). Overall: Otherwise pretty good. Would certainly return.
