For the area it felt out of place. Not terrible, a place to sleep for a night which is all we needed. Would never spend longer than one night.

Even though the owners struggled with English a little bit, they did everything in their power to understand our wants and needs for the weekend. We ended up having to stay another night due to a snow storm so we spent a total of 3 nights in this hotel. They were very accessible and kind the whole time.

The hot water was gone pretty much right after we got into the shower. And my partner and I even shared a shower. It was freezing in the bathroom as well due to a constant fan going when the light is on but we worked around it!

Completely Unacceptable – Avoid This Hotel Our stay at America’s Best Value Inn in Stonington, CT, was a nightmare. The only employee on-site did not speak a word of English, making it impossible to get help. In an English-speaking country, there should be fluent staff on-site—not just over the phone, where we were forced to give our credit card details to someone who sounded like a child. We received no receipt, no invoice, and no confirmation of charges. The room was just as bad. A one-inch gap around the door let in freezing air, making it impossible to stay warm even with the heat blasting. The bathroom was like an icebox, and to make things worse, there were no comforters—just thin top sheets, totally inadequate for winter. The TV had no channels, and despite the hotel being nearly empty, they placed us directly below the only other guests, who jumped and stomped all night. This hotel’s definition of “value” is misleading. The photos online are completely false, and the experience was unacceptable. If you expect basic service, comfort, or even proof of your charges, stay anywhere else.

Cheap but the facility had inadequate lighting in the stairway . The room smelled very musty. Stairs were steep for my wife and I, both pushing 80. Beds were okay. Pillows were not comfortable. There is no coffee available at any time. Bathroom was okay. The heating system worked but was pretty noisy.

The room was set up ok

They took forever to find me a room after trying to place me in a double bed room when I paid for a king bed room. The staff were hard to communicate with and rude. They came to my room early in the morning telling me that my card didn't go through for the room that was after showing them all the confirmation emails and giving them the pin the night before. I explained to them once again and after leaving my room they tried to charge me again thankfully my card was locked. They were in front of my room this morning being locked and rude. The whole stay was really uncomfortable

I was there for a couple hours and then I left. One thing I did not like was was when I told the owner I want a ground floor he told me I had to go upstairs and I have bad knees and I don't think he understood English that's the only part of it. I decided I did not want to stay mostly for other reasons but having said that I don't imagine I'd ever go back there.
