This is a great hotel in a central and quiet location. Excellent value for money, the rooms are lovely as they appear to have been renovated recently. Very clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast isn’t included but there are plenty of good restaurants nearby and the hotel provides tea and great coffee 24/7. The staff are friendly and helpful

We booked a room at this facility and almost immediately were faced with a family crisis. We knew we could not travel on the booked date so we called to plead for a refund. We told Stephanie about our Mom and asked if since we just made the reservation, can we get a refund. Stephanie indicated it wouldn’t be a problem under the circumstances and because it had only been 20 min since our booking. But because we booked thru Booking.com we had to call them first. We did and the representative there told us they would approve this cancelation without any charge to the hotel for commission, but they had to send the approval to the hotel for their approval. So now 2 people said it would be okay. Today we talked to Jenny/Janet (didn’t quite catch the name) She says she’s a manager and she would not approve the refund. She said Stephanie has worked there for years and should not have told us we would be able to cancel without charge (if she’s worked there so long, she’s probably seen refunds, I’m guessing). Anyway, we can’t travel at this time and certainly would not be able to guess another date until our Moms condition resolves. Thanks River Canyon for your kindness and understanding in this stressful situation. May you never be faced with the same heartlessness.
