Newbury Guest House

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was cute and clean. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were good. The location was good for shopping and restaurants, but unfortunately, we were there during below zero temperatures, so we did not do much walking around. We can't wait to go back in the spring so we can enjoy the city more.

Unfortunately, the elevator was broken during our stay, and we were on the fourth floor. Most of our group were young adults so it was not a big deal for them. My father-in-law was with us, so he had a bit of a struggle getting up four flights of stairs each time we came back to our hotel. Our bathroom door would get stuck closed when it was shut so it was really difficult to get it open when you were done using the bathroom. Sometimes we would need someone in the room to push it open from outside the bathroom. It was a minor inconvenience that wasn't a big deal.

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Newbury Guest House. Our rooms were cozy and clean, and the entire building was charming with a great location. The value was outstanding as well, as many of the generic chain hotels in the area were priced above the Newbury. I can't say enough about the accommodating attitude of the staff as well; all were friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Highly recommended and would stay again any time!

A really lovely boutique hotel in an excellent location! Despite the fact that my stay coincided with a major winter storm, everything about my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The staff are extremely friendly, nice, and helpful; after holding my luggage at checkout, when I retrieved my bags to leave in the early evening, the concierge at the desk offered to bring my suitcase down the steps out to the car, which was especially helpful given how much snow there was on the sidewalk and street. The facilities are excellent, with complimentary drinks and even a microwave in the lobby, and the room had everything I needed. I requested one night of parking and that process was very easy as well. Overall, I highly recommend, especially for solo travel to a fun part of Boston.

No complaints! I didn't feel like I was missing anything. There's no breakfast at the hotel but there are plenty of excellent places to find breakfast immediately in the vicinity.

The Newbury Guest House is a gem! We were greeted warmly by Marc, the Operations Manager, who also cheerfully answered questions and offered suggestions when asked. The location was perfect for us, within walking distance of the MFA, the Isabella Gardner Museum, and many excellent restaurants. We would definitely go back!

Good location, good standard of rooms. Helpful front desk staff who helped with public transport tips and restuarant reccs. Lobby/ lounge area with coffee and tea making was very useful. I would say this was really an hotel rather than a guest house - they changed sheets and towels and cleaned room every day. I would recommend and stay again.
