Grey Gull

The location, size of our room, less noise.

The bathroom door was damaged.

No one enters your room and your left alone by the staff. It's a really chill experience. The rooms are pretty cozy aswell.

The bed was awful not sure if that is room specific though. I wish they had bigger trash can inside the room.

The king bed was comfortable

The unit we stayed in was very worn. Very old and outdated coaches, stained tables, very dirty stove top, stained rug and scratches all over the frig. This unit was certainly not "wonderful"

The quality for what we paid was exceptional. Staff incredibly friendly.

Absolutely loved this place. Very clean, and very comfortable!!!!

The property is an old building, however it showed that they were continuing to make updates and welcome the summer busy season of vacationers. There was a new fountain feature in the front entrance with rock path and cute wooden bridge followed by two stools & bar top to sit & take in the beauty. The side of the building had construction of wooden planter boxes that were finished during our stay. They turned out beautiful. The employees are all friendly and happy including front desk, pool cleaner, maintenance, house keeping. It showed that the company tried to treat their staff well & keep them happy. There is a beautiful well maintained garden path cut through the back of hotel leading to the beach. It gives this glorious vibe of being in a secret garden winding around corners revealing dark & light sky & flowers & little treasure like bird eggs on the ground. The beach behind the hotel is sectioned off where no cars can drive. This allows for less busy section & even safer for little children. The pool & hot tub is always a favorite, but this company doesn’t stop there. They give seating cushions, pool toys, & towels. The hotel created an elegant lit up ambiance of pool at night & paths leading to it. The design of hotel is focused around the pool & viewable to all rooms & balconies. There is no room in this hotel without a pretty view, but they don’t stop there. There is a barbecue grill for use, a fire pit with stocked fire wood, & a beautifully maintained lawn for playing games with your kids. This hotel focuses on little details that are such sweet and thoughtful nice touches including beach toys for your young child to borrow, to little stars on the sealing of the bedroom when the lights go out. As I stated in the beginning this is an older hotel and not every room has state of the art new furniture or wood floor.

This old building has great charm. The older furniture is not a bother. There is carpet throughout which is little tougher for cleaning family spills. The pull out couch bed is quite old and lumpy, however not too bad to sleep on the couch for most children. The only tough thing is the small toilet. As in older houses, toilets are low to the ground & very small. It works well for young children, but for a full grown man it provides its challenges. All in all these are not by any means deal breakers. Pictures are online of each room and expectations are set before arrival. If it does not meet the expectation, then do not stay, but you will be missing out.

The Grey Gull never disappoints! I love Ocean Shores and only ever stay at this hotel. Every room is unique and room 112 was a perfect layout for my family and super comfortable and cozy and great access to the beach.

The only downside was not having enough toilet paper, paper towels and dish detergent or even bags available to hold our treasures found at the beach. I would recommend having it stocked a little more just so the guest doesn’t have to ask the front desk. (This feedback does not change how I feel about The Grey Gull or my rating!)

The view from the room was great. Nice and clean.

You need more than 1 ice machine. I went down 3 times. Out of 3 I got ice once. There should be one on each floor. Also your t.v. was hard to operate.
