Penta Hotel

Large & clean rooms, free cereals & toast, kettle in room, shirt walk to town.

The Penta was spotlessly clean. Large room & en suite. Was unmanned most of the time but was easy to communicate with manager & sister hotel, when required. Limited, free continental breakfast, was unexpected (other than what we read in previous reviews) Would've loved a bar on site but were able to use the sister hotel. Comfortable stay. Fair walk to centre of Douglas but not a problem.

Excellent value for money. We were 5 friends with 5 rooms and I heard no complaints. One of our party had difficulty walking so would have welcomed a hotel nearer Douglas centre, but the Penta is walkable from the centre if fit, otherwise buses run up and down the promenade. A shorter walk the other way gets you to the electric railway north. I plan to return.

Huoneeni oli tilava ja siisti. Rakennus oli vanha, mutta huone oli remontoitu nykyajan vaatimukset täyttäviksi. Rappuset huoneeseen oli tosin kapeat (mutta hissikin oli). Aamupala oli ilmaiseksi hyvä (muroja, jugurttia, paahtoleipää, mehua, teetä ja kahvia). Respa oli auki vain aamuisin. Muina aikoina sitä hoidettiin etänä läheisestä hotellista, joka oli ihan toimiva järjestely. Aulassa oli puhelin, jolla etärespaan sai helposti yhteyden.

My room was pretty large. It was also quiet and clean. Even though the building was old, the room had been refurbished up to modern standards. However the stairs up were narrow, just like they typically are in old buildings. There was complimentary continental breakfast available for all guests. It had toast, cereals, yoghurt, juices, coffee and tea. The location was on the Promenade in an area where there were mostly only hotels. The front desk was open only in the morning, but things were organized well also after it closed. The reception was run remotely from a nearby hotel and there was a phone for calling them. When checking in, the room key was stored in a lockbox and the code for opening it was given over the phone.

Lovely hotel, nice clean comfortable room. Continental style breakfast, plenty to eat and drink. Ship was cancelled, we had no reservations booking an extra night (other guests did the same)

Good location, friendly staff, easy parking.

Lovely 3 star hotel, we had an attic room with sea views, very spacious and the en-suite was newly refurbished with great water pressure making the shower very efficient. The lift was small but efficient, not a suitable place for people with mobility issues as the step up to the front door were steep, we struggled sometimes after a days walking. Convenient for the city of Douglas and we bought 5day tickets (Go explore) for the buses trams, electric and steam trains and entrance to museums so we were able to explore the island. The transport was always on time. The area was very clean as was the hotel. The light breakfast was adequate for our needs and the staff were very attentive and helpful. We will be back.
