Colonial Motel and Spa

Zimmer ausreichend groß (inkl. Kühlschrank, TV und Mikrowelle) mit bequemen Betten, WLAN top. Die Nutzung des Spa-Bereichs ist inklusive. Es gibt zwei Schwimmbäder, je eines zum Schwimmen und zum Baden ;-) Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist top (knapp 211$ für 2 Nächte - einen Tag vorher hatten wir zu diesem Preis ein ähnliches Motel ohne Spa-Bereich für eine Nacht! Die Lage ist gut, schnelle Erreichbarkeit der Interstate sowie von Supermarkt und Restaurants (der Mexikaner "Tito's Taqueria" ist einen Besuch wert, auch wenn es sich eher um einen Imbiß mit Sitzmöglichkeit handelt)

Die Möbel sind etwas abgewohnt und ein Stuhl im Zimmer wäre schön gewesen. Die Klimaanlage ist laut, aber auch das kennt man von anderen Motels. Beim Frühstück gibt es Abzüge. Zum einen war der Frühstücksraum empfindlich kalt, zum anderen gab es - ungewöhnlich für die USA - keine Erdnußbutter beim Frühstück. Wem dieses "Basisfrühstück" nicht genügt, geht ein paar hundert Meter weiter zu Wendy's.

The service was lackluster at best. Our room had a burnt out light bulb, which made one half of the room quite dark. I called the front desk, but he couldn't hear me (it didn't help that the wire fell out of the phone). I used my cell instead and told him. He asked me if it was necessary that I have the light fixed. I said it would be nice to have some more light; he seemed to be stalling and then asked if I had used the bed. I admit I didn't understand what that meant and assumed he meant the lamp by the bed (which did work), so I said yes. He then said that for this reason he couldn't come over to our room. Honestly, I just hung up at that point because he clearly didn't want to help.

As we have many times over the past 30 years, my wife and I enjoyed our recent 3-night stay at the Colonial Motel. We stayed in the Bennington Suite, which is large, well laid out and very comfortable. While not everything there is new and updated, everything worked. At the front desk, Diane was welcoming and attentive to any and all questions we had -- the Colonial and its guests are fortunate to have her excellent services and attitude! The breakfast is adequate and lasts all the way up to 10 AM. Finally, a standout feature of the Colonial is and always has been its connection to the pool/spa complex on the property -- 2 large pools, an exercise room and a new, very effective hot tub. Motel guests can use this complex for free and we did, twice in 3 days. From our travel experience, such a benefit is highly unusual for any type of lodging, anywhere. We hope to return again next year.

Never had the chance to stay. Was told twice that check in wasn't ready despite it being during their check in. Window. Then after checking in we get a room that smells like someone just smoked a pack of cigarettes in there just before we got there.

Excellent staff

Location and parking are perfect for us. Also the price for the size of the room that we get is definitely fair. We stay here every time I come visit my family.

I did not feel safe here, there was no additional lock for me to lock myself in. The chain lock was broken off. Overall the property did not look like the pictures online.

The room had a musty smell, the facilities smelled like pot, there was a guy standing in front of the door to his room in his underwear. There was a coffee can in front of many doors used as an ash tray. I have the impression that illegal drugs and prostitution is common at this place. We left and could not get a refund.
