Colonial Motel and Spa

Appears to house a lot of homeless.

This property looked like they used a filter when they took a picture. I drove right past it. I almost booked another motel after I got there. I did not look or feel clean at all. Musty smell.

Checking in the person was not friendly or talkative at all. It was very awkward. The room looks like it could be a movie set for some sort of crime or a hide out from the police if you’re on the run and bugs crawling all over the walls in the bathroom, I didn’t even stay the night. I turned around and left and took the loss and rented a different place

We had called more than a day in advance to say that we were having a late check-in. When we got to the Colonial at 12 midnight the place was all locked up, nobody in the front office area--all lights off. We called from in front of the facility, but could only leave a message. Had no recourse but to drive another four hours directly at home. We hope we get some form of reimbursement. It caused us to have a very late night and early morning.

The room I was given was quite impressive in size. Plenty accommodating for me and my dog. The a/c worked well, fridge was plenty cold, bed was comfortable and clean, the grounds surrounding the buildings is very nice for traveling with a dog. The front desk help was gracious and accommodating. That being said, the rooms seriously need updating and repairs. I feel the price reflects that though. I would definitely stay here again!

I’ve been coming to the Colonial for years. It’s where I always stay whenever I’m in Vermont. I was very disappointed with the place since the sale to the new owners. It’s clear that the clientele that they are now accepting is more transient. Very sketchy! There were people going in and out of hotel rooms to pass/receive things to people who would randomly pull up to their rooms in cars and then quickly take off. People were going in and out of rooms throughout the whole night. The management must have received complaints because the next night there was someone from the hotel patrolling the grounds on a bicycle. I would not recommend going here anymore, although the food at the Indian restaurant on premise is superb.

While the buildings aren’t fancy and the grounds aren’t kept well, the rooms themselves are very good. Ours was large, had a King bed, and the bathroom was a decent size. Fridge in the room too. Most important for us is that the room was dog-friendly.
