Colonial Motel and Spa

I informed the morning desk staff of not being able to shower. I had no hot water. I left my name and phone number 3 separate time, with three difference staff members. NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK . WHAT KIND OF A BUSINESS DOESN’T RESPOND TO A REQUEST TO PROVIDE a call to resolve the problem. UNACCEPTABLE customer service! No mattef what the issue, I should not be charged full price when I could not take a shower. Absolutely a poorly managed property

The colonial motel was an awful stay. When I first walked in the room, smelled terrible, the carpet was wet and the toilet was clogged. After thoroughly cleaning my own room, we stayed there for a week. After three days we got banned from the pool because I was trying to teach my fiance how to swim. When it came time to check out we wanted to stay because we didn't have anywhere else to go. Naturally, they had no more available rooms. So I booked a room on trivago. They wouldn't let us stay. We had to check out. And check back in at 3. When the cleaning staff came to check my room so i could get my security deposit back. She said it smelled like smoke and kept my security positive. We don't smoke. On top of that they canceled that room reservation and told us we had to leave If you're going to book a room in Brattleboro only recommend anywhere but the colonial. Their staff was rude. And the place was awful. The AC didn't work and I had to buy a plunger and plunge my own toilet.

Not well maintained but the room was large

This is my go to place to stay. Its always clean, check in is quick and easy. The staff has always been polite and helpful when something has come up. The price is the best around.

The staff was great! Very friendly! Beds and pillows are not very comfortable though.

The room was clean, but the grounds were rundown. Lots of smoking receptacles with people smoking on the balcony and in front of their rooms. On our second night there, we came back to 4 state police troopers detaining someone staying at the other side of the motel which left us feeling uneasy especially since our door did not have a chain lock. The ‘other’ section of the motel appeared to be housing with bikes, shopping carts, furniture outside the rooms.There was no transparency in the advertising that this motel houses people. When checking out the pool, we were told ‘the pool was open to the community’ which was then followed by a litany of things we needed to do for hygienic measures before using the facility- which felt more like a warning of ‘enter if you date!’. We happened to be dressed up for dinner at the time and not planning to use the pool, just looking at it. The area itself is also a bit rundown.

My kids and I come to this motel several times a year and stay usually between 2-5 nights. We love to stay on the grassy area side because in the morning the kids go outside and ride their scooters around or play on the lawn. The pool, that is free for guests to use, is an added benefit for us all. I also love the large rooms with two large tables. We can eat our meals together and we can spread out our food that we bring and the kids’ books and all our stuff. The negatives are: the pillows are flat and hard. The dining table has a rippled top in all the rooms that we stayed in. The dispensers in the bathroom are not wiped clean. And in one of the room that we stayed in, the curtain rod was broken and hanging down. The carpets are old and even burned by iron in room 114. They have done lots of remodeling but the inside of the rooms could be better maintained. All in all, we love coming here. It’s quick to the freeway, grocery store is across the street, it’s quick to get to Brattleboro center, and all in all just a spacious place to spend a few days in.

Needs a thorough cleaning, spiders, and spiderwebs on the second floor, everywhere. It needs to be swept and cleaned

The restaurant and bar are nice, but priced on the high side
