CALIXTA Hotel

Warning: The rooms at Booking.com does not match what you get. We got a much smaller and lesser room than we booked - after a lot of complaining back and forward we got the correct room. Negative: - worn out and dirty - no room cleaning or change of towels - overpriced (much better options in the neighborhood) - understaffed - wi-if doesn’t work if the hotel is at full capacity - lots of defects in the hotel (tv in our room, escalator only works sporadically etc). Positive: - Decent breakfast - Decent location if you like partying and doesn’t mind a lot of noise during night time (don’t bring kids to this place) Conclusion: Most disappointing hotel experience of a life time and I’ve visited +500 different hotels the past 10 years. This is a “modern tourist trap” where things looks nice at their own pictures but in real life its almost falling apart.

Clean and convenient. Friendly staff. Lots of nearby restaurants and places to shop. Bus station nearby.

Best stay! Staff make you feel very welcome- nothing is too much trouble! Very friendly! Breakfast lovely! Location is good- There is some noise at night but this cannot be helped when you are Saying central to playa del carmen! Room very clean and modern! The guys serving breakfast and at the bar were actually so good, helpful and honest. Always smiling !! The receptionist were amazing one actually lent me money which I thought was an amazing touch and just shows who works here !

Hotel really disrespected the guests. Worst thing was when all of a sudden hotel had planned to have a poolparty upstairs for outside hotel guests. No guests were informed and hotel guests belongings from sun beds were thrown away. All places were full of empty beer cans and people were smoking marijuana at pool. I informed about this to pool bar “manager” and he just said that I should go away. Immediately I informed this to downstairs receptionist and he just smiled due to lack of English understanding. I insisted him to contact some supervisor but never got any reply. Otherwise pool area was nice, breakfast was okay. Rooms were quite noisy and we even had earplugs and some white noise machine in our room when arriving. Room cleaning was made every now and then. I’m not very conservative person, but illegal drugs in Mexico for me is a really huge red flag. Playa must have other really good hotels that respect their clients and I suggest you to get one of those, Kayak is not one of these.

Great location (sometimes noisy but the hotel provides ear plugs), good breakfast, the staff is always smiling and willing to help with everything. The room is spacious, clean and beautiful. Recommended :)

I recommend

I stayed at Kayak Sol for one week and absolutely loved it! The hotel decor was modern and clean and the staff were really helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect, however it is quite nosey being so close to 5th avenue. (But this was something I did not mind at all) the facilities of the pool were great it never got too busy and the food from the restaurant id definitely recommend!

Property was very nice, clean big rooms, very close to eating, shopping, parking places. Very please with my stayed there
