Courtyard Philadelphia Plymouth Meeting

The front desk staff did not look at us or make eye contact. No words like Thank you. Upon ck/out I relayed that I drank a $6 bottle of water and to please add it to my bill. I was not given a receipt, paper or email. When the final bill came through, a day later, a second $6 charge was added, as well as $250 penalty because "they found a cigar butt on my balcony" ( this is a non-smoking hotel). I called the hotel, and I was told they have photographs to prove I smoked a cigar. I asked to speak with the manager, who was hugely rude and said the charges would not be eliminated and I could take it up with my bank. I asked to speak with THE manager. "They're in meetings". I asked to be called back (didn't happen). I filled out an online review, and a customer service person wrote back to say they used my example as a teaching moment for their staff. I said, That doesn't address the $256 false charges! I wrote my complaint to the hotel manager (found his info on LinkdIn) and he did not reply.

Atmosphere for "cocktail hour" and dinner could be better. Lighting way too bright! Maybe votifs on the tables and dim the lights. Food at dinner was "fine". Could offer just a slightly elevated wine selection. Breakfast exceeded expectations. Honestly, was not expecting much. Good selection. Avocado toast was VERY GOOD, eggs were perfectly cooked and berry cup good too! Compliments to THAT chef - a woman. Bedroom was nice and comfortable...

Staff, but for one, seemed "indifferent". Would like to have had pressed sheets as it made one "suspect"...

Very clean lobby and room. Bed was firm and comfortable. Font desk check in was quick and the associate was very friendly. There was a youth hockey team staying at the hotel and I was told they were basically on the floors below me, but I was placed next door and across the hall from some members of the team. Flags on doors and absolutely unruly kids playing hockey in the lobby running up and down the hallways all while the parents were just ignoring everything drinking in the bistro. If it wasn't for this experience the hotel experience would've been much better. There is a limited selection in the area for upscale hotels or even moderately upscale hotels and having stayed here before I felt confident enough in the reservation. And aside from what I mentioned above l'd choose this hotel again vs the Doubletree down the street any day.

We had a room with a king-size bed, a desk & sofa bed. The room was very comfortable with just enough space for me & my wife. The staff member on duty when we arrived (can’t remember her name), checked us in, was efficient, engaging, and welcoming.

This was second experience with courtyard by Marriott and I would not hesitate to stay at any of your hotels again.

Great property! Only issue is room was a little tight and no microwave in the room.
